Good day

A question for all the electronic gurru's.

I saw this (attached) on a American website and would like to know whether there is any substance in it.
The question that come to mind is "why did Minelab not think about this"?
It is not that expensive and is very simple.

Let me know what you think, because if it works, well....... ;)

Best

Morning Kudu,
It would be an inexpensive trial considering most of our computer/ printer etc connections have them clipped onto the leads.
Is there a link you can post here to read the details?

Cheers
Good luck & safe travels

Hi Barney,

I have heard there is a mod for the 4500 where that suppressor is fitted inside the control box on the coil connection plug.
Don't know who does it though.
ML most likely know of it but knowing what they do will leave it to the next upgrade so they have a model that is different!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,

Ted

You might want to check with Trevor at Coiltek but I believe it is a requirement of the American Federal Communications Commission that they must be fitted to coils for the US market to limit the interference imposed on other electrical equipment.

I would say it is a piece of ferrite.for memory I think that there is all ready a piece inside the box, that the coil wires go through.

True there are already ferrite cores on your cable leads inside the box .. have been since the SD2000 ..
Doubt if this product will reduce much more EMI .. if it does will only be minimal .. no harm in trying I guess.
