Calvin "Bunk" Bunker here, I found your site through Jennifer's site. Have not had a chance to read much yet but I will.
I will be interested in learning more about the things you can do with a 2100. I swing a 4000 most of the time and also have a Xterra70. I live in Chino Valley, AZ, a little N. of Prescott. I also have my own e-store and gold forum, that my wife Teri, and I have been working the last eight months or so. I have been prospecting since about 1980, wish I would have got into the detecting end of things back then! I got bit by the detecting bug in 2005 and have not looked back allthough I still enjoy limited drywashing. The way I see it,when it comes to gold, information is great, no matter where in the world it comes from! Thanks,
Bunk

Welcome Bunk,
It is always interesting to get ideas from prospectors in other counties, we are never to old or experienced to improve our knowledge.
Back in the 90's we did a lot of dry blowing (dry washing) with limited success. The blower was fed by hand with a shovel, damn hard work.
Carol & I now only metal detect with our 4500's.
Look forward to more of your stories.

Cheers
Peter

Good luck & safe travels
Peter

Hi Bunk,

Good to see another prospector from overseas joining our forum.
Hope to share knowledge 'down the track' as we say over here.
Cheers,

Ted

G`Day to Jennifer,Greywolf and Bunk..........have tracked you through AZ and BC forums. Very interesting to see how other prospectors handle steep hills, green trees and running water not to mention snow.
Most of our ground is gum ,mulga ,spinifex (semi arid desert) and salt lakes.

Bunk,

Alot of guys here still swing the 2100 or keep one as a back up. My son bought a 2100v2 brand new as a back up just as they stopped production. Cost him 2 1/2 oz of gold and so far it has found 7 oz. Matched with a 17x11 nugget finder mono it is a very good machine for patch finding in our neck of the woods. A set and forget machine.

Cheers,

Driller.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I will be heading to Rich Hill and staying for a couple weeks, I will get you folks some pictures of the area.
Driller,
This 2100v2, is like new and I got it for a back up. I have heard of some really cool things can be done with them in reguards to mods. I have not had a chance to play with it yet. Thanks for any tips on this machine.

G`Day Bunk,

My young`un runs the 2100v2 at 8.2v and it performs so well I doubt he would be tempted to poke a screw driver in its gizzard.

My old green model wont start at 8v so I have had to mod the 8.4v batteries down to 7.9v to get it to run.

Good luck at Rich Hill. I see the AZ guys still pull steady colour from there.

Cheers,

Driller.
