Hello everyone!
Well I thought it was time after 3 years or so of lurking in this forum to finally make my inaugural post. I hail from the top end of the NT and my wife and I are finally about to embark on our grey nomading. My wife taught me to fish when we first met around 37 years ago in Perth and I taught her to detect about 2 years ago ( although I have only been detecting myself for about 5 years). My wife now catches more fish than me and finds more gold! We travelled to WA in 2009 on a detecting recon trip and met some of the forum members by chance, including Bill and Sue in Meekathara and Janet in Kalgoorlie, but missed out on Gypsy as she was heading out on a detecting trip. We almost met Nightjar as we passed him going in the opposite direction near Leinster.

Well, I will keep it short for now and perhaps my "coming out" will give me confidence to make a few more posts!

Hey Seeker,
Good advice from our Kath, if you have an hour or three to listen to stories about her finds and if you listen to Carols stories you will know we males agree that women do have a natural skill when it comes to swinging a detector.
Sure hope the lurking ladies take Kaths advice and post so we can learn a trick or two on how to fill our poverty jar.

Cheers
Peter

Good luck & safe travels
Peter

Hi Peter and Kath,

Thankyou for your welcome messages. As far as the ladies detecting skills go, I have my theories on why they seem to do so well, but they are probably left for debate around a campfire. Besides, she now has her own detector, a 4500. I'm seriously thinking I will need to upgrade from my 3500 to a 5000 soon - not that there is any competitive streak in our 36 (or is it 38 year) old relationship!

cheers,

Seeker
