Hi everyone, Have been interested in gold prospecting since I was a kid. My grandfather was an old prospector who was born in 1895 in NSW. I'm new to the game and was looking for some info about prospecting with a Metal Detector around the Coolgardie area. Any info would be a big help. Camping, Road conditions for June long weekend. Thanks Dingo |

Hi Dingo, Welcome to the forum. You will find a wealth of info here particularly in the Research Section. When it comes to metal detecting & prospecting, 95% is research & the other 5% is finding it. To lower the odds look for areas where gold has been found in the past. Make sure you do the right thing, get a Miner's Right & ask permission first before going onto live tenements. The best way is to get on Tengraph & look for pending tenements in the area you wish to detect. These tenements you can go onto without permission otherwise apply for a Section 20A for Exploration Tenements(EL's) but since you are looking at the June long weekend you may not get a 20A in time. All this info is in the Research Section of this forum. Also have a look here which will give you a breif outline on what you can & can't do: http://s4.zetaboards.com/Gold_Detecting/topic/653858/1/#new Enjoy your stay. I have deleted your other post as it was duplicated to save server space. |
