Hi all,

this is fat belly ex-asia expat .....those hot humid non aircon days in Shanghai waiting, sitting in a modern outfitted factory for 2 years (!!!) till "Boss"" finalised factory registration...lonley times on computer...got onto Nigthjar's old website by chanche (2008)...oh boy was I hooked...gold fever downloaded straight to computer! Then I came across Lady of the Lake...and so many others...I could hardly sit still in my buffalo hide designer office chair, saw gold everywhere!

Well, I settled down just as fast, there is no free lunch, but I must say those two individuals mentioned above have earned my higest respect, excellent web postings, and true, honest advice on forums.

I saw my ex-pat posting being terminated at end 2010 and so I planned a trip to Australia (which I have visited 3 times in the past) having a bit more time AND money at disposal :D

I decided to do what I always wanted to do: Gold prospecting. So I finally got to Kal, bought a 4 wheely (and keep fixing it) got the latest detector gear and all the associated junk.....and here I am!

Missus in Shanghai tell me: Don't come back without the yellow :X .....please help me :'(

Hi Dum,
Welcome to the forum.
You better get your oiler spinning the wheels and get SWMBO on side and let her know you have found some yellow so you can extend your stay and be able to return to a happy humid household. ;)

Cheers
Good luck & safe travels
Peter

Happy birthday Dog,
Hope your patch keeps producing, if you see flashes of light in surrounding hills it's probably reflections from binnocular lenses used by the track hasers. :D

All the best

Peter
Good luck & safe travels

Thanks a lot boys and girls, it is really a surprise for myself, after an agonizing 12 years, standing at the abyss many times....just to turn back again, for good reasons.

My venture at Dog's Lair has been a B-day present, ....the first in as many years. Almost 2 ounces may not be much to some, but for me to be graced with even starting to find gold, not to mention of walking onto a patch.....I hope it is a turn around of events badly needed.

It is exciting to be out bush, and I do hope in time I will catch up with some of you in real life. As I am also a member of APLA, our way may cross sooner than later.

Again, my deepest gratitude to all...a "thank you" is just not enough...

Cheers all
Dog
