Welcome to the forum Val/ John,
And hope you can make it too the meet, would be great to have others who have local knowledge of the area.
Remember you saying you found a nug near where you camped.
Didn't tell you at the time we found a nice little run up the slope to the West of where you were. Just goes to show not all the gold is ever found.
There is also a story here, back when I had a 2100 I got a faint signal at the base of a tree on the slope on our last day there. I dug in among the roots but could not get to the signal. Filled the hole back in and filed it in the memory bank to get back to it next trip.
We did and after great deal of effort digging down through the roots, my mate took over while I had a rest. I walked around the other side of the trunk to watch him dig.
:'( There stuck in the trunk was a geos sample wire. :$ :$ :$ :$
Such is life.....

Cheers
Peter & Carol
Good luck & safe travels
Peter
