We have had a number of new members join recently. Now that you have shown an interest in Gold Detecting why not share your experiences or if you are completely new to the hobby ask any question that is on your mind. We all crawled and stumbled until we found our feet, however by asking questions we were able to venture out and eventually drop a rattler into our brag jars. Only a few ever find a glory hole, but just seeing a small glint of gold in our hand for the first time, second time, infinite, always adds to the excitement of getting away to our wonderful outback. You can almost reach out and touch the stars, the warmth of the campfire and a friendly chat at days end brings us back time & time again. Take your first step. |

Hi everyone. I have been prospecting twice before. First time 15 years ago, and again 2 years ago. I find it hard to coerce people into going due to them not being interested, the distance required to travel from Perth, or the common reply that all the gold has gone. I however, remain firm in my belief that I will find some gold, however small. Its also about camping, going bush, and meeting new like minded people with a sense of adventure. I have booked a place on a prospecting course out of Cue in a few weeks with Bill Oconnor and Udo Kashner. At least I will be informed how to use the latest detectors and navigate my way through all the legallities of where I can prospect. WHEN I find my nuggets I shall post photos for all to see. |

Hi Rusty, Welcome to the forum. It was some members on this site that got Bill O'connor started in the prospecting field a few years back so I know you will get some good value out of the course Udo & him do. Lookin' forward to hearing of your experiences & take care while out there. Best of luck in the future. |
