September 3rd, 2011 So after a while of not being happy with the site where I originally remade it, I decided it was time to come back to Zetaboards so here we are, after a couple of days of non-stop work to move everything... Zeta certainly feels cleaner and should hopefully provide a better home for Hogwarts, The New Age Begins... here's to hoping at least. Everything has restarted from the original site (from a couple of years back) so I hope you all feel welcome to the site. Come join our little family and help us to grow! ______________ For those of you having trouble locating the register button, it's in the top left corner. Tiny I know. =C For any members who join before Tuesday 6th Sept,, 8pm GMT, bear with me as I have work so won't be on to look at applications before then. <3 |

HOUSEPOINTS Earn housepoints by attending and succeeding in classes or performing tasks given to you by particular staff You can lose housepoints as quick as you gain them by breaking rules etc. Keep this in mind All housepoints are docked/added at the end of the day (GAME TIME) and the hourglasses then updated. (once the housepoints are striked through in the post and blacked, they have been added/deducted) Housepoint Chart This is the list of how many housepoints you can win for certain things Giving a correct answer in class (easy) ~ 1-4 housepoints Giving a correct answer in class (hard) ~ 5-10 housepoints Giving a correct answer in class (very hard) ~ 11-20 housepoints Team wins quidditch match ~ 50 housepoints Round one win in dueling competition ~ 10 housepoints Round two win in dueling competition ~ 20 housepoints Round three win in dueling competition ~ 30 housepoints Round four+ wins in dueling competition ~ 40+ housepoints Recieving an ''A'' in homework ~ 10 housepoints Recieving an ''E'' in homework ~ 20 housepoints Recieving an ''O'' in homework ~ 30 housepoints Passing exam with ''E'' Grade ~ 25 housepoints Passing exam with ''O'' Grade ~ 50 housepoints There are other ways of receiving housepoints such as events that may pop up, winning costume competitions etc. This is just a list of the secure and most common ways. Once the housepoints given in a thread have turned from the respective house color, to black and striked, it means the housepoints have been added to the hourglass. You can also lose housepoints. Most common ways include ~ Not having the correct books and equipment Cheeking staff Breaking rules Cheeking prefects Again, once the points have changed from the housecolor to black and struck through, they have been deducted |

HOUSES AND SORTING At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, students are sorted into the houses that 'mesh' a bit with their personality. Below, there is a description of each House, along with quotes from various characters and Heads of Houses. Gryffindor House Head of House: Position open Original Head of House: Godric Gryffindor As the Sorting Hat sang, Gryffindor is for those brave at heart and willing to accept a challenge. Gryffindor's House symbol is a lion, because lions are extremely brave (rashly so sometimes). Gryffindor is the House that Harry, Ron, and Hermione were in, and for good reason! Gryffindor was the House that Albus Dumbledore himself was placed in when HE first came to Hogwarts. Gryffindors are generally thought to be the 'best' house by many, and to be placed in Gryffindor at the Sorting is a great honour indeed. Ravenclaw House Head of House: Position open Original Head of House: Rowena Ravenclaw Ravenclaw House is the house where very clever people go. Their House symbol is a raven, suppose because ravens are supposed to be quite smart. Harry's 'crush', Cho Chang, was in this house. Ravenclaw is known for its witty, intelligent people, and its Quidditch team is nothing to scoff at, either. Ravenclaw is often thought to be the second-best house. As with Gryffindor, being put in Ravenclaw is a very honourable thing. Hufflepuff House Head of House: Position open Original Head of House: Helga Hufflepuff Hufflepuffs are just and loyal, and are unafraid of work. Their House symbol is a badger, because badgers are quite hard-working. As one un-named person quoted, ''Hufflepuff is a load of duffers.'' Hufflepuffs are generally quite pleasant, though not terribly brainy. Cedric Diggory was in Hufflepuff, and was Harry's greatest opponent in the Tri-Wizard Tournament, but most unfortunately was murdered by Lord Voldemort. Their Quidditch team is thought to be the worst in the House leauge, but they're really that bad. Hufflepuff is thought to be the third-best house by many. Slytherin House Head of House: Position open Original Head of House: Salazar Slytherin Slytherin, the most infamous house, has a reputation for turning out the most Dark witches and wizards in the school. Not to mention that ''there wasn't a witch or wizard who went bad that wasn't in Slytherin.'' Their House symbol is a snake, which goes well with the description of the people in the House - cunning, will use any means to achieve their ends, and sneaky. Draco Malfoy, Harry's archenemy, was in this house, along with his two enormous sidekicks, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. Slytherin has a very good Quidditch team. Slytherin is thought to be the absolute worst House in the school, although not if you're a Slytherin. Remember, you do not choose your house, The hat does based on your character. GAME TIME This forum goes by GAME TIME which means that it could take AGES for a full year to roll around. Most schooldays with lessons will take approximately one to three real time weeks to pass to make sure everyone has time to attend their classes. Please bear in mind that if a class doesn't finish by the time the day rolls over, the thread will continue until it has ended. Days where there are no classes will pass by in about a real time week. If you wish for something to take place on a non school day and want the day to last longer in real time, let Seraphyna or Xerian know. MOVING UP YEARS As noted above, a school year takes a LONG time in REAL TIME to pass. However, if you wish to advance up a year, PM Seraphyna. A magic spell will be placed on you to automatically advance you a WHOLE YEAR IN LIFE (meaning you will AGE ONE YEAR) and you will be in the next year group. HOWEVER! YOU CAN ONLY REQUEST THIS ONCE EVERY SIX REAL TIME MONTHS!! Edited by Professor S. Nova, Sep 2 2011, 04:59 PM.

CLASSES Most lessons require you to have certain equipment, be sure to purchase these in Diagon Alley. In each common room there is a thread of the needed equipment and books. Please be sure to read this and make sure you buy the correct books etc from Diagon Alley. You can earn housepoints in classes. Probably the easiest and best way to stock up those hourglasses. You will notice that not all Professors have an office. If you find this is the case, feel free to post your problem/question about homework etc in their classroom. HOMEWORK!!! For each lesson, homework is set. This homework is to be completed and PMed to the correct professor. Failure to complete homework before the next is set will result in an ungraded piece and a detention. Grades are posted in the grade book once the work has been graded. Please check regularly to see your grades |

TRAVEL Any day that a student does not have class, they are free to travel to Hogsmeade or London. They can do this by using the Floo Network set up to take students to these locations on their offdays, or if they are in their sixth year or over and have passed their Apparition Test, they can Apparate from just outside the School Grounds. Apparating Students can take others with them. Please remember that if you skip class to visit these towns, you will lose housepoints for your House as well as receive detention from Miss Nova. There is a direct Floo Network from Hogwarts to the Entrance of Club Nova for safe passage back to the school after a night out. |
