SciFi Fantasy Flowchart

According to the path leading to the book I am currently reading, I answered Yes at the node: Are you going to be upset when you don't find Harry Potter?

Which meant that I wanted my next book to: Give me more precocious lads at schools of magic, please!

I am enjoying this series of books so I can confirm that the flow chart works.

Awesome flow chart! I'm not a big science fiction and fantasy reader, but I do enjoy some once in awhile. I heart the Terry Brook's Shannara series, of course read JRR Tolkien, classics such as Animal Farm and Brave New World and some random Stephen King books. I mainly read about non-fiction and boring textbook like topics. I do enjoy a John Grisham book occasionally.

I'm not a fan of the young adults or their novels. But thanks for the tip.

i'm a little afraid to ask but what's a GILF?

also, i enjoy some good young adult reads. Twilight is awful but a mindless and entertaining read. :bag:

Google it. You can thank me later.

And no; Twilight sucks so many, many nuts. I read it... In fact I read all four of them... Because I believe that no-one should criticise a book they haven't read (or a film they haven't seen, an album they haven't heard, etc). 99% of the words in Twilight don't need to be there, two of the four books have no discernible plotline at all, and the phrase "Edward's perfect face" is used about 20,000,000 times. It is also very, very anti-feminist, if you give a shit about that kind of thing.

I don't like Twilight ;) The Host, on the other hand (also Stephanie Meyer) is well good.

When it comes to young adult reads, I don't think you can do better than Jonathan Stroud, Garth Nix and Robin Jarvis! :D

I despise what Meyer has done by bringing Twilight into the world; if I ever meet her I'm going to spit in her face. And not in a sexy way.

Watchmen caught my eye first. You know, I'm honestly considering getting The End Is Nigh.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Host. I was definitely surprised that the person who wrote Twilight was able to come up with The Host. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Snowcrash is excellent. Y.T. ? Awesome! Another tidbit, I'm having a hard time coming up with an example of numbers-as-letters prior to Da5id. Fun read. Also check out Diamond Age: Or a Young Lady's Illustrated Primer. Nell is a great character too!

Not to be picky... but after studying this flow chart in great detail I noticed that The Wheel of Time is firmly at the end of the line that answers "Yes" to the question "does the series have to be finished?" Some of us are waiting for Book 14 to come out. Shame on you NPR for misleading people.

It was finished. Sanderson and Tor just broke up book 12 into 3 parts. What are the chances of RR Martin staying alive long enough to finish his epic?
