looking forward to this move - I'm a big fan of comic book movies (for the most part):

First of all... <3 Chris Evans! I could stare at him as Captain America all day long. :flirt:

Second of all... Definitely looking forward to this movie. Comic book movies were great, and then they kinda weren't for a while, and now they're making a come back as far as quality and entertainment go. I really enjoyed the Iron Man movies and Captain America so having them merge with a little bit of Thor (which I didn't see) should be fabulous.

Third of all... Whenever I hear people talk about The Avengers I immediately assume they are talking about the TV show in the 1960s and I think "they're making ANOTHER movie based on that TV show? Didn't they realize that tanked last time around?" :eyeroll: And then I realize they are talking about Captain American and Iron Man and I get super happy.

I am super stoked for this movie. When it was first confirmed I may or may not have passed out from joy.

I like comic books, though I don't read them anymore. I like anything related to comic book characters, especially Marvel, whether it's a movie, animated show, or video game. With that being said, I'm looking forward to the Avengers movie.

I agree with you guys - Norton makes a much better Bruce Banner than Mark Ruffalo.

I love technology! All my childhood heroes are coming to life on the big screen!!

I forced my younger sister (whose an adult btw), my Aunt, and her two young niece and nephew, to watch The Avengers all the way past the credits, as I knew, KNEW, that there would be something at the end (as is the case with Iron Man 1 & 2, though I haven't watched Thor yet :S ).
And then we were blessed with a trailer so astounding, so awesome, that I transcended from geekdom to nerdom [again].

Then, your link to the trailer (though I watched the higher resolution one from Apple Trailers  ) destroyed my sanity. I fainted :faint: [in my mind].

Thank you ;)

Edward Norton is one helluva actor, a true overachiever in acting. I still remember two of my favourite films that he played in, in Fight Club, and the mind bending American History X. Excellent!

Oh, and yeah, childhood. I remembered that Captain America was a badass stopping Nazis, and that Iron Man would beat the crap out of supervillains when I was a kid. Nothing happened for a very long time in film or TV media that made me think of my childhood. Then, Iron Man came to the big screen. I cried.

Then, Iron Man 2 came out. I cried again. :bawl:

Then, Captain America came out. I bawled. :drown:

[Disclaimer: Crying may have been a lie. I still cried though].

So did I, and the music they used in the trailer was AMAZING! I love, and own, most of Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails music, and to hear 'Where In This Together' from the album 'The Fragile' made my skin have goosebumps. That is how trailers are made!

I seriously can't wait, as this and The Dark Night Rises will be the best superhero films to come out in this generation (imo). But why do we have to wait till next year!!!!!! :(

I am a fickle beast with comic book movies. There are those that I love (the new Batman films, Watchmen, Kick-Ass), those that I enjoy on a fairly simple 'hot chicks, funny jokes and loud explosions' level (Iron Man, Spiderman 1 & 2, the Ed Norton Hulk movie, etc), and those that I want to hit with a brick until they stop twitching (The Spirit [aside from the Eva Mendes nude scene], Scott Pilgrim, Spiderman 3). The majority fall into the middle category, and I suspect The Avengers will do the same :)

is there a lag between when movies are released in Italy and when they are in the U.S.? (I assume there is some lag)

oh yes. it's not as bad as it was 10 years ago where it was easily 6 months from release in the states to release to military bases overseas but it's still slow. SOME big blockbusters they get on release day though so....

Glad I didn't miss anything by never getting around to see Spiderman 3.
