I like watches. I love horology. I like the engineering of watches. ![]() This is my current watch, in [Darth Vader] black, but mine is scratched and scruffed, so sometime next year, I want to get a new one: Issey Miyake OVO (Black) I may also get one of the following watches next year too....so I say: Mr. Jones The Last Laugh Tattoo Special Edition Mr. Jones The Last Laugh But really, I want THESE watches, but I may never get them (due to price and rarity): Harry Winston Rare Time Pieces Opus 3 Harry Winston RTP Opus 5 Harry Winston RTP Opus 8 Harry Winston RTP Opus 9 Urwerk UR-203 Urwerk UR-202S Urwerk Rare Species UR-110 ZrN Torpedo Urwerk UR-202 "White Shark" MB&F Horological Machine N°2 (HM2) MB&F HM3 Starcruiser MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt I know that in the digital age, and our current times, that time is everywhere, but I still love watches and their movements, ever since I was a child. What watches do you have/wear, and what watches would you like to buy, if any? Edited by TheOneInYellow, Oct 13 2011, 03:00 PM.

I also recently started getting into watches. Currently own a Seiko, don't know the model name/number (think it's in the Grand Seiko series). Hopefully one day I'll own an Master Memovox Jaeger-LeCoultre or some other ridiculous Swiss watch. |

Watch faces have always fascinated me. There's so many designs and I've seen a lot that I would buy to simply stare at. I currently don't wear a watch, except for when I'm running/skiing/etc. A Garmin Forerunner 305 to be exact. Yes, a nerd watch It's very helpful for determining my pace though!

Yay, there are other watch nerds out there I'm not a LONER ANY MORE!!!!! When I was younger, this website was awesome for LED and other, strange watches. It changed hands a couple of years ago; some brands (Sekio, Independant, and PIMP) are not sold any more, and they got rid of some watches that used to be on their Watch Museum page, which showcased all there unique, but sold out watches (you could use the Internet Wayback Machine to see their older website if you wish). Any who, here's the link: TokyoFlash I think the first tourbillon watch I ever saw (on the internet, that is) was this: Ulysse Nardin "Genghis Khan" A small variant was also made. Finally, here is a report, with nice pictures, of the watch I read when I was a teenager. It is what got me interested from watches to horology. @ Snicks Fossil Watches are very cool, though I think you may also like Storm Watches too Sorry about your allergy, though I think you can get non-allergic Fossil watches, or at least most of their new stuff is non-allergic... @ CallUpChuck You own a Seiko GrandMaster . What version!!!! Seiko's are amazing watches, and my first was a Seiko Automatic watch that I got on my 16th Birthday (though it broke five years later ). The only other watch I really want from Seiko is this: Seiko Discus (aka Discusurger). I prefer the black version (SCB007), but both watches are very rare to get legitimately... ![]() My Issey Miyake watch is actually made by Seiko, but not Seiko Watches, but their subsidiary, Seiko Instruments (which is their industrial arm). That's because the hands on my watch turn from the outside; that is, the hands do not move from the centre Master Memovox Jaeger-LeCoultre is a very nice watch; good taste! I also think this might be up your street too: MB&F Legacy Machines N°1 (LMI). @ crazybydefault Now this is a very high tech watch! Good watch to do sports with! I also think some of the Casio G-Shock watches to be very good too. @ Scruff I did NOT know this! He will be my new friend

it's one of the older fossils and you can see where my skin has kind of eaten away at the nickle(? i don't know what it's coated in) coating around the dial. and it makes my wrist itch a bit. what i need to get is a gold watch. but those are mega pricey. and i don't really NEED one right now since i have my damned iPhone with me all the time. my favorite watch though was a Baby G that i had for swimming years and years ago. it had a velcro strap AND an extra closure and apparently they don't make it anymore.

I know Horology is the study of time, or the science of time measurement, but I'll always think it means "study of whores." |

You might be able to get one legit from eBay, but I still thought they made them, like these ones: Casio Baby G Black Velcro Strap Watch (BG-169BV-1ER) Casio Baby G White Velcro Strap Watch (BG-1006WV-7) Casio Baby G Pink Tele Memo Databank Watch (BG-198V-4AVER) No? So, if you ever get back to watches, you could try and see if you can still get your Vintage Baby-G Velcro watch. Or get a new velcro strap for your old watch if you still have it somewhere

This makes me happy as I was ignorant as to what Horology was, but couldn't believe it was the study of whores. I know nothing about watches. I've never spent more than $15 US on one (that might be why they never last very long). I did, however, spend a week cruising around every shop in the Caribbean with my eyes glassed over as hubby tried on every Omega he could find. So what I know is that Omega could be pronounced as O-me-ga. or O-may-ga. And I think hubby's Hamilton is pretty classy looking. |

I have a friend who wears a Casio G-Shock during cross-country practice. He loves it! Quite frankly, I love it too! It's not as massive as mine! (giggity) |

I'm not quite sure to be honest. I can take a picture for you, as soon as I find my charger for the camera. It's probably not a GrandMaster if that makes you so surprised.. |

I doesn't matter if you don't own a Seiko Grand Master, you own a Grand Seiko, which is one of my FAVOURITE watch series from a brand that I love (my 16th Birthday watch was a Seiko Automatic, and my current Issey Miyake OVO watch is made by Seiko!). It is a watch I want to buy in 2013 (hopefully I will have the finance to purchase it then), model will be determined on what's available then. If I had the chance to obtain one now, I want this model So yeah, pictures or it didn't happen. Beware, I may drool if you post pics

Okay, I have no idea what I'm talking about. So I don't even own anything close to a Grand Seiko. I own a little $310 Titanium Seiko. It's entry level, but it holds a special place because it was given to me by my father. Having learned a little about the Seiko brand and a lot about other brands (thanks Yellow, haha), a nice watch is next on my finer-things shopping list - following a nice German car and gold-plated toilet seat. |

Glad to hear, but strike gold toilet seat of your list, because that's just silly. What you want is those invasive yet alluring Japanese toilets that touch you and massage you whilst you poop. I myself will not be able to get the über extreme watches that I have listed, but the Grand Seiko and the Mr. Jones/Tokyoflash watches are on my list over the next few years. And nice to hear that you have a Titanium Seiko; that will last you a lifetime, so look after it and enjoy it. Also, model/pictures are still required or it did not happen; I demand satisfaction! Yep, really beautiful watches, for which the Urwerk watches, including the Opus 5, which was made by the Urwerk designers, stand as my favourite watches. I really want an Urwerk watch. *sniff* Edited by TheOneInYellow, Oct 18 2011, 11:57 AM.
