Watched Immortals last night. I LOVE greek mythology but this movie disappointed with it's inaccuracies overall. Hyperion was a Titan, not a King. And I hate when they "mortalize" or scale to realism. The Minotaur should've been a fucking Minotaur, not a crazy brute with a mask. It was awesome to watch though. I also hated the undead warrior look of the Titans. I accepted the Gods but Zeus just always appears in my head with the big white flowing hair and beard.

Excellent action movie though.
I was thinking of checking this out on Netflix soon, so thanks for your thoughts. I don't know much about the Greek mythology so probably wouldn't find the inconsistencies that you did. The action sounds cool though.

Then you'll enjoy it more than I did. It felt too much like a Clash of the Titans ripoff with how much it strayed from the original tale(s) but man, do the Gods fuck shit up!!!

looking forward to this reboot DREDD. Karl Urban will probably do well as Dredd, although I think Stallone was really good at it in the original. I AM THE LAW!

Gotta say, I thought the Immortals was a pile of shit. I too am fond of mythology, and I hate how Hollywood hasn't yet managed to take all the amazing material available and make a decent movie out of it. I found Immortals to be a standard brain dead action flick, but without any real fun in it.

Still, it was nowhere bad as the remake of Clash of the Titans, which was so bad it actually offended me. I fucking love the original (and ANYTHING involving Ray Harryhausen), and while I expected crap, I was shocked to the core at how awful it was. I mean, making Medusa hot!?! NO!!! Just NO, it goes against the whole fucking point of what and why Medusa is what she is!!!! ARGGGHHHH! :wall:

Fortunately, gamers have been treated better than film lovers. Looking at you, God of War series :blowkiss: (now I just need a PS3 to play the third one...)

Watched IP Man on Netflix last night and loved it! Great martial arts action and a very good story too (about Bruce Lee's master during WW2). I know it's "based" on a true historical figure, but not sure how accurate it is.

Looking forward to watching the sequel.

Just seen the trailer for the next Silent Hill movie. I really enjoyed the first one, hopefully this will be of the same quality.

In terms of Game Adaptations, Silent Hill takes the cake for accuracy. The only thing that sucked was the ending. They could've went a tad darker or even more hopeful. The whole limbo thing left it so...unfulfilled but a sequel totally would be doable.

Long live Pyramid Head!

Not me. Superman has been on a rancid downhill slope for a while now. Returns had a few nice ideas, the show stealer being Spacey's Lex Luthor. I hated the whole "Kid" angle. I liked the guy who played Olsen though.

Smallville was amazing from where I left off. It had some light lulls from what I heard but a damn good representation of Clark becoming Supes. I'd really LOVE to finish it.

My favorite instances with Superman have been The Death/Return and Smallville. I actually liked the Netflix animated feature Apocalypse about the modern Supergirl origin. Plus Supergirl was voiced by Summer Glau!

On the flick though, I can't get behind Russel Crowe as Jor-El. If Kal becomes disobedient, is he going to punch his son in the face from the beyond??

So, I guess it's not part of the 5% of the universe you actually like? Geez.

I don't care if it's not stellar or perfect, I'm just excited to see them try. The work of the directors (Nolan/Dark Knight and Snyder/300 & Watchmen) tells me it's going to be pretty epic.

Ugh, I love that people assume I hate everything b/c I have *gasp* my own thoughts and opinions about stuff. Like a bunch of people seem to think I hate Halo or 343 b/c I'm holding reservations about already sucking Halo 4's dick. I remember what happened with Reach. EVERYONE was excited. Then they all turncoat. Hence, I make my own decisions when it drops. Of course, I do get excited about things, and I am for H4 but I'm just not saying it's going to be epic....yet.

It's all the better that it doesn't bother me too. It bothers everyone else which is where I fly by the line "Sucks to be you".

Not you. I like you, Asles :)

It's also just my anti-DC'ism. Obviously, I'm a Marvel fanboy and it's no secret they have put out a better set of film adaptations. I do like that the new Supes is a more unknown actor and not oversaturating the crap we have today. Also, Snyder being at the helm is another huge plus, Thank You Watchmen.

I originally watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon before I became a Firefly fan, so it was interesting to re-watch it this weekend and recognize Alan Tudyk in it!

I agree, in fact I'm trying to master the impression ;) I'm halfway decent with mimicking some voices . . .
