I watched these again this week and was re-amazed at how great these are. The beauty of the battles & swordplay, the raw carnage, quirky dialogue and the great soundtrack make these movies a couple of my favorites!

I recently watched vol 1 on blu ray and upscaled dvd. My upscaling is great but hi def is superb. Being able to almost feel the sheen of sweat on kiddo's face as she is fighting copperhead is just one of the small benefits. I also watched taxi driver recently and was surprised at how many of the shots, particularly during the shootout in the apartment, tarantino used during the copperhead fight in the kitchen/living room. Need to pick up vol 2 in hi def ASAP.

Anyhoo, loved volume 1. Hated volume 2. Want a nicely mixed combination of both of them that doesn't shove all of the action in the first half of the film and then a bunch of not particularly interesting dialogue (and a fucking terrible last fight scene) in the second.

I think my favorite fight scene was the long one at the end of vol.1 between Kiddo and the Crazy 88's and then the finale with Lucy Liu.

I won't say that I hated volume 2, but it wasn't as good as volume 1 for the exact reasons you hated it. Bill going out the way he did was definitely disappointing.

I liked the last fight scene, though I will admit it was a bit anti-climactic. The fact that their lovely daughter was sleeping soundly in the next room tempered their duel to the point where what actually happened made sense to me. Haha, if that makes sense!

Wow.... this is a sign that I like violent movies too much, because I forgot all about them having a daughter. Yet, I could think about every gut and blood spilled in both volumes. LoL

The tension caused by them both clearly loving their daughter made the ending interesting. It also made it, for me at least, satisfying. They both cared for each other, but what happened to Kiddo couldn't be forgiven, which is the whole point of vols 1&2 isn't it?

I never heard of the possibility of a vol.3 - have you heard that somewhere, or is it just wishful thinking? :)

I can't see the reason for having a Volume 3. There's no one else left to kill and there's nothing more to add to the background story of each character.

Maybe a prequel story. Or a new Kill Bill with a new story.

how about a young Bill, training with the old dude? Not necessary, but it might be interesting!

Actually, there were major rumors around the release of Vol 2 with Tarantino saying he wanted to make a 3rd with the two daughters (Kiddo and Green - Fox's daughter) eventually squaring off. Fox's daughter is supposed to go hunting down Kiddo. However, his big claim about it was that he wanted to literally use the same kids but when they grew up. Supposedly wanted to do a literal chronology. Haven't heard much since last year which was Fox making a statement that she wants a cameo.

that would be an epic battle! Part of me wants to see the two kids team up somehow though; that would be cool too, but that would cut down on the revenge factor.

Would seriously defeat the whole vengeance theme. Plus, who would they go after????

Maybe a new story of revenge where the two were assassins who worked together but were betrayed on a job, then they get to seek vengeance together! Just think - two kiddo-types wreaking carnage!

Anyway, it's just an idea, I'm sure Tarantino would come up with a better one :bag:
