The state where I live (Kentucky) was hit by some tornadoes earlier this week (same system that killed some people in Illinois), but what they're saying about tonight's storm makes those incidents look tame.

I was hoping to get online for some MM tonight (30k from Inheritor), but right now I'm focused on my family and I surviving and being prepared for the worst!

following the storms from this link, for those interested (local weather):

a video of some of the damage south of us earlier this week:

thanks much, LC

I hate being separated from my wife and kids on days like this. We're in two different part of the city (twice the chance for danger!) about 10-15 miles apart. We both have our cell phones charged and action plans ready to go, hope we don't have to use them.

I cannot even begin to understand the terror you and your family must be feeling, people complain about british weather, but it is absolutely nothing compared to what families like yours go through, i have seen the after effects of a tornado (on tv), and it had me in tears, but like i said, my thoughts are with you, and please keep us updated, so we know you and your family are all safe :)

When it comes to something like that, it gets to the point where Halo doesn't matter at all. I hope nothing bad happens, and you and family stay safe.

Thanks everyone. We had to go into our storm shelter for about 20 minutes (DS bathroom), but we cleared the storm without damages. Scary stuff. Tornadoes to the north & south, but we hardly had anything. So sad, a city just NE of us in Indiana has been pretty much wiped out (Henryville).

Thanks again for your kind words and thoughts friends,
Scott (ASLANS R0AR)

Glad you're safe. :D I'm so glad we don't get tornadoes here (Utah). The worst we get is earthquakes, but even those are pretty rare.

We don't really get any kind of extreme weather conditions here so I can't even begin to relate to what you've been experiencing. But I'm glad you're ok, anyhoo :)

thanks for all the kinds thoughts & words, friends. This was a really unusual storm - worst in at least 15 years. 25 people dead in my state and Indiana and Ohio (surrounding states). Very thankful this morning.

Well you got through it all right ASLAN :) that's one thing. Shame about those 25 :( their families must be devasted. Reminds us of how cruel mother Earth can be sometimes! (we probably deserve it)

death toll now up to 39 across 5 states, including mine (KY). I have a friend whose entire family ended up in the hospital, but survived, pretty amazing.

The weather is so weird here - we had these deadly storms on Friday, and today (3 days later) our biggest snowfall of the year so far (only 2 inches, but it's been a dry winter). Weird!

I just live 40-45 minutes south of the Kentucky border, so I had to deal with those same tornadoes. It's some scary stuff. Anyway, glad you're doing okay.
