no problem, I looked for the main music thingy but couldn't find it ![]() . . . and don't let your hatred for Lars (pretty good drummer, in my opinion) obscure the awesomeness that is Metallica! Edited by ASLANS R0AR, Mar 22 2012, 08:52 PM.

I have a friend who saw them live. I'm super jealous! I'm also one of those weird people where I happen to like both Metallica AND Megadeth! There's the Big Four concert with Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, and Metallica that I want to go see. My dad's roommate planned on taking me last year, but I happened to be in Texas at the time!

Murrrrged ![]() Metallica just aren't my thing; I don't really like that kind of 'classic' metal. But I'm not one to shit on other people's musical taste. Though I do genuinely enjoy Hetfield's funny "hyeah-yeah-yeah"s

Pre-ordered Shinedown - Amaryllis, Macy Gray - Covered and Madonna - MDNA. Grabbed Say Anything - Anarchy My Dear, Weezer - Hurley and The Hunger Games soundtrack. I expect good things from Shinedown. Today's buys were really solid, especially Weezer's. While I have a bit of a varied taste, this record label, Anjunabeats, represents what I primarily listen to (some of which I dabble with mixing). This Mat Zo track came from his Bipolar EP. Matan Zohar is one of the best acts around, next to Arty. |

Did you know that I did a paper about the three producers and creators of Above & Beyond, their record label Anjunabeats, and it's offshoot sub-labels whilst studying Music Tech last year? I own two albums from Above & Beyond; one is called Sirens of the Sea by OceanLab (A&B with an extra singer), and the same album remixed and signed (yes, signed) by all three producers of A&B? I listen, about once or twice a month, to their uploaded live radio multi-hour dance shows (Trance Around The World) too! I have so, so, so much music, that span vast multiple genres, styles and tastes, on a variety of mediums (from CD/CDDA/Redbook, to vinyl, to digital audio files ripped in lossless formats mainly, to high resolution digital audio such as 96 kHz/24 bit, vinyl rips at hi-res quality, subscription or freemium based music services such as Spotify or Last.fm, and so forth) that I cannot even begin to write what I listen too. I had, when I joined the forum, decided to write a post using spoiler tags, but I ended up writing five Word .docx pages instead...

I'd be interested in reading that. I've been following them for quite a number of years. If I'm unable to stream Friday's show (2PM EDT) live via DI.FM, I catch the podcast on iTunes. Justine Suissa was the female vocalist on the Oceanlab collaboration. She recently resurfaced on another Anjunabeats release by Boom Jinx - Phoenix From The Flames. Paavo, Tony and Jono's sigs on a Sun&Moon single, off of their Group Therapy album.

Now that is a great pic. See my Sirens of the Sea signed album pic below. I've been out-of-touch with dance music overall, just listening to TATW, but I shall do some research and see what Anjunabeats/A&B are up to. I shall listen to Boom Jinx too (in Spotify first, if available, or by other means). Right now, my old favourite genres is what I have been listening too: soundtracks, ambient soundtracks such as Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross stuff, classical music, industrial metal/rock, classic rock, classic Jazz, and dark ambient dubstep have been my flavour of the past two months, with Trip-Hop, dark cinematic ambient/glitch/acousmatic being mainstay any time favourites.

Aww i think im a little late to this post in the forum, but still, here are just some of the bands i love, if i were to list everything i listen to, i would be here all day, but other then the bands i'm going to list below, i love game and film soundtracks, and the standard of them these days are through the roof *cough* Jasper Kyd *cough* Marty O'Donnell *cough* Sam Hulick, Cris Velasco, and Sascha Dikiciyan *cough* hem, hem. Yes well, i favourite band is A Day To Remeber, their music hits home like no other band i've listened too before, and there are so many other straight edge bands i listen too, but thats a whloe other culture, that if anyone is interested in, i will tell you in another conversation ![]() So... Brand New (which are a very under-rated band, that not many people have heard of, if you have please let me knoe, because it's awsome to meet other fans), MUSE, Radiohead, Paramore, Killswitch Engage, Alexisonfire, Scary kids scaring kids, we came as romans, 36 crazyfists, metallica, chilli peppers, kings of leon, daive bowie, AFI, Arcade fire, Armor for sleep, misfits, bad religion, biffy clyro, billy idol, blink 182, bloc party, the prodigy, the used, two door cinema club, the cure, gary numan, ellie goulding, ed sheeran, tinie tempah, B.o.b, three days grace, breaking benjamin, the smiths, four year strong, the clash, devil wears prada, machine head, static X, story of the year, pantera, spineshank, 18 visions, disturbed, fallout boy, panic at the disco, Feist, Keane, funeral for a friend, HURTS, Led Zep, crowded house, the rasmus, linkin park, taking back sunday, modest mouse, mudvayne, NFG, The Script, Lana del ray, Stone sour, the temper trap......and i should proberbly stope there XD Music is really important to me, it gets you through sooo much, and it fuels my artwork, i put my headphones on, and i'm well away XD I've been playing drums since i was 11 years old, and continued my music studies at music college when i left school, i went on to learn the guitar and piano, music theory, and how to work in a music studio. I played in quite a few bands, but had to give it up as my artwork took up to much of my time, and i couldn't really juggle the two, as they both take up so much comitment, so playing instruments is just a hobby now, but i do pick up session work where i can ![]() |

I don't either. If I wanted to listen to it, all I would have to do is use my 56K modem again. But hey, to each their own! ![]() And you're an ADTR fan, LC?! I'm also a HUGE fan of them! In fact, I saw them live in Portland two years ago. If you ever get the chance, I'd definitely recommend seeing them! I also tried to learn "If It Means a Lot to You" on my guitar, but I still suck, so don't expect me performing any time soon I listen to almost every band you listed!@Eskobar: I love CKY! They're a little different from all of the other artists I listen to, but I'm a fan of theirs! My favorite band currently: Chevelle Edited by crazybydefault, Mar 25 2012, 12:32 AM.

I couldn't be bothered to write a lengthy post so: Fueled by Ramen - record label. I love every band and artist on this label! And while I'm still catching up on their older releases they send me their new ones ahead of time so I can actually buy them when they come out! ![]() Also I do like Alot of music of varying genres but I don't seem to listen to much of it anymore! idk why but I think I know all my music too well and now I want new music that I don't know!Outside of FBR I listen to Brit pop/rock! Ie Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Ellie Goulding... That's off the top of my head! And some ADTR and other similar bands although now I only really listen to the local hardcore music as there is a really good band in my town and a couple in the closest town to us! And we also get Sydney's best hardcore bands out here as well so it makes for a few really wonderful nights!

I hate most, MOST, dubstep. So, I recommend HECQ (Ben Lukas Boysen), who creates ambient dubstep and cinematic ambient music. One of last years trailer for Assassin's Creed: Revelations (link) used music by HECQ, in particular the song Sura, however, his most famous works are his ambient dubstep double-disc album 0000 (you can get it here), and one of the best dark ambient cinematic albums in the last decade, Night Falls (from here). I also like Broken Note, but that is more traditional dubstep, but still dark. I also like the dubstep music for the Borderlands 2 trailer here (music called Doomsday by Nero). However, that's it for dubstep, as I hate most other stuff from it. I know of the first two artists you posted, but not the others. For DJ Shadow; I have not been a big fan of DJ Shadow's more recent works, but for Bonobo? AWESOME! I love Black Sands, one of my favourite chillout albums of all time, just strikingly beautiful, laid back music. I shall have a listen to the other artists you posted @ Scruff: I IS JEALUS OF UR SIGNED MUSIC, and of that Slipknot album... @ Scruff & LC: I got my hands on high resolution music last year of Nirvana - Nevermind and Metallica - Metallica (or The Black Album) albums from HDTracks at 24 bit/96kHz. Then I got my hands on a record from my favourite industrial metal musicians/producers/engineers, Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine Remastered/Reissued 2010 album in vinyl, and had it ripped from my friends £5k turntable system into 24 bit/96 kHz. Then the same friend gave me two more records at 24 bit/96 kHz from the same vinyl system: David Bowie's - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars limited edition clear vinyls (1990, Rykodisc, RALP 0134), and Metallica's - ...And Justice For All (original US press, rare). I also have Miles Davis - A Kind of Blue in mono vinyl at, you guessed it, 24 bit/96 kHz, but I got my hands (digital paws) on this via...erm...other means... I love classic/speed/metal/industrial/thrash rock or metal (seriously, too many examples to write, from NIN to Led Zeppelin to Pink Floyd to Conspiracy Cavalera), to mellow jazz (Miles Davis or John Coltrane), dance (certain types and genres, such as The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, A&B or DJ Sasha & John Digweed duo), to electronica (think Autechre, Squarepusher, Broken Note, Boards Of Canada, Flying Lotus, Aphex Twin, HECQ, and the epic Daft Punk ), but mostly Trip-Hop (UNKLE, Bonobo, Thievery Corporation, Portishead, and the great Massive Attack).

Dubstep is only good for video game trailers in my opinion. It tries to be to the current youth generation what drum n bass was to my generation when I was younger. It fails. Miserably. Edited by Braythor, Mar 25 2012, 02:20 AM.
