admission: i don't get dubstep. :wtf: :bag:
Dubstep is only good for video game trailers in my opinion. It tries to be to the current youth generation what drum n bass was to my generation when I was younger. It fails. Miserably.
Yes, you are right, which is why I stay away from such dubstep (except, as you mention, game trailers) and go directly to leftfield, out-there ambient and dark dubstep, which you certainly will not hear in a club/night out/with stupid chavs/youngsters; I am stupidly picky about dance and electronica, but I must insist that you don't write-off all dubstep.
HECQ is probably the best producer of it because he doesn't conform to stupid d&b based dubstep, but cinematic, avant-garde, and sometimes Brian Eno-like ambient/atmospheric/acousmatic styles instead. Of course, this is my opinion, but if you, or anyone else, gets a chance, listen to his stuff. You can use Last.fm, or here this track called I Am You (considered his magnum opus music piece; here is a YouTube link if Last.fm is not your thing).

He does do proper dubstep, but not cheesy effluent dubstep. Again, try the song Sura (YouTube link here too).

Oh, btw, Skrillex & Nero can suck it. :penis:

and the epic Daft Punk :wuv: ), but mostly Trip-Hop (UNKLE, Bonobo, Thievery Corporation, Portishead, and the great Massive Attack).
Yellow, my opinion of you just increased :fluffy: though I would think, given all your listings, that the Hartnoll Gods, aka Orbital, would've popped up somewhere. Orbital are...well...beyond any description of fantasticness that can be written.
Idk; I prefer Orbital back in the day (alongside Leftfield), but I am not a fan of their newer stuff. However, Belfast, Chime, Halcyon + On + On, Satan, and the soundtrack of the awesome Event Horizon film? Now that is real Orbital music!

@Eskobar: That is quite a collection! Holy crap!

@Yellow: <3 Daft Punk! I loved watching Tron, simply because they made the music. Well, and because it was awesome in general :P
@ Eskobar: I don't listen to Hip-hop that much, but I shall listen to Machete Vision and see if I like them. Also, their artwork is fantastic. ;)

@ Crazy: Thanks Crazy, I love Daft Punk, who, with the album Discovery, was the very first electronica music I heard when I was a kid.
In the UK, I pre-ordered the Tron Legacy soundtrack (double-disc album in a gatefold foldout packaging) with a limited edition large glow-in-the-dark poster of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter in their Tron suits. :hooray:
I'll update this post with a picture attachement of it hanging on my wall later today.

Oh, Tron FTW! FTW :soapbox:

Braythor, as you're a fan of electronic music and you're also from Sheffield, I must point you in the direction of the incredible and equally Sheffield-based 65daysofstatic.
Scruff, ythis is a good electronica band. :)
I love the live album Escape From New York (I also happen to love that shitty film of same name), and I haven't listened to them in a while. This shall be fixed TODAY.

For everyone lese, I normally don't share this, as it does not represent my entire music collection or all that I listen to, but I do try and track every music I listen to via Last.fm (called Scrobbling), and this is my Last.fm profile, which I use through Spotify, JRiver Media centre, or my favourite music player, foobar20000.

Thomax - Wishing

Masta Ace & Edo.G (Beat by Norwegian Thomax)

@Yellow: MacheteVision is alright I like a few of the songs of that album. It's more hardcore lyrics than the other CD's I have in my collection which is more laid back & chillout Hip-Hop. Depends what you prefer though. I agree the artwork is awesome, reason why I bought the deluxe edition with T-shirt. Album

And I got all the Instrumentals: WikiLeaks Instrumental

Hecq I'm checking it out now. Hypnos I (Distant Fires) is scary! Imaging playing Silent Hill or Resident Evil with that song. Hecq - Suture is dope!

And you're an ADTR fan, LC?! I'm also a HUGE fan of them! In fact, I saw them live in Portland two years ago. If you ever get the chance, I'd definitely recommend seeing them! I also tried to learn "If It Means a Lot to You" on my guitar, but I still suck, so don't expect me performing any time soon :P I listen to almost every band you listed!

We have EPIC taste Crazy ;) Yeah, they are my FAV band!!!! and yes i would love to see them live, and i will at some point, the place i live, never get any decent bands, so it would take a bit of travelling for me to get to see them, but would totally be worth it :D

Anywho, epicness FTW! :D And I know what you mean about how your place never gets any decent bands to come visit. Every band always goes to Portland when they come to Oregon (Which makes sense. It IS, after all, the population center of Oregon.), so it was a three hour drive over a snowy mountain pass just to go see them. I even spent the night there, just to avoid driving back at five in the morning. Well, that, and I felt like I had just been sat on by a sumo wrestler :P

After going to Disneyland, I officially have a newfound love for Tron. They had something called ElecTRONica, where they had tons of Tron-related things (such as Flynn's Arcade full of old arcade games), and were constantly playing music from Tron: Legacy really loud and with the bass turned way up. It was possibly the best thing I found in Disneyland. Words can't even begin to describe how cool it was. :D

I hate you...

After watching the film in 3D at the IMAX in Birmingham, UK, I had a brief spell of listening to Journey AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND again and again and again and...

Oh, btw, here is an attachments of my Tron: Legacy Original Soundtrack Special Edition glow-in-the-dark Daft Punk poster (poster is limited). Enjoy!

Was on concert & got me a signed t-shirt! They had us cheer every time they took a drink of the water bottle which was fun. I had to walk home at 2am but it was worth it.

Yes, yes I am. A few years ago people always used to sing Mr. Scruff songs at me in game lobbys. It was most peculiar :)

Custom Above&Beyond, Deadmau5 and Mat Zo window vinyl. Added them over a smoke break, which when I work from home like today, is on the hour.

I kinda screwed up the application of the A&B sticker, but it centered well enough. The bubbles that don't dissipate, I can pop with a needle and squeege out.

Involving music... How do you get your music delivered to your ears? iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, etc.

My house has iPads, iPhones and iPods. I use iTunes Music Match for my 15K+ track library. I then use Google Music to replicate the iTunes library in the Google cloud.

I use Spotify Premium for streaming tracks not in my library, and TuneIn Radio for shoutcast and other streams.

Ever since hearing them from Nine Inch Nails Lights in the Sky sampler, and then live when they were a guest band touring with Crystal Castles in the UK (saw them at Wolverhampton Civic Halls on the 11th October 2010), I have been listening to HEALTH on Spotify and the Max Payne 3 soundtrack (scored by them, excluding last track) from my hard drive (got the soundtrack through my copy of MP3 Special Edition).

Here is a link to their music on Spotify: HEALTH HTTP Link

Below is a brief description of how I use music files on my computer:

If I don't have access to something I want to listen to, or want to listen to something straight away, I use Spotify Premium.
I like the program, wide library, social features and the chance to listen at higher quality music (320 kbps Ogg Vorbis -q9), but there are some serious problems (click spoiler tag below):

Hopefully this month (in the near future), as part of a late birthday pseudo-present my sister is going to try to help me get the brand new Samsung Galaxy SIII (I want the Pebble Blue) at staff discount (read: I will still be paying for it, but at a very handsome price on a 30-Day Rolling/Sim-Only contract).
If I do get it it, not only will HaloWaypoint and other game related apps go on it, but I will also be using Spotify Mobile. can't wait!!!

I buy CDs cheap from Amazon Marketplace. You can't fuck with artwork, liner notes, perfect sound quality and a lack of DRM. /oldskool
