Lost; The TV show, not an exclamation that I don't know where I am.

Honestly Aslans, I think you're asking too much. What you want is a super-short overview of a series that can't be described in a super-short way without stripping away everything that makes it what it is.

For example: "Lord Of The Rings is a story about a midget who has to destroy a ring. He destroys the ring. The end." Obviously Lord Of The Rings has a lot more to it than that, but describing it in such a short way takes that away.

Lost is 121 packed hours of awesomeness. It may sound like a lot but most police procedurals are already at two or three times that length. Trying to leech out all the relevant information in a way that would make you appreciate all the subtle nuances is too big an ask, really.

Still, it's fine. It's entirely your prerogative if you want to watch it again or not. I greatly enjoy, say, Dexter; but I doubt I'd watch it a second time :)

You're right, of course, Scruff - any good story is multi-layered and cannot be boiled down to a "concise summary" or a "cliff notes" form without ruining it.

We're working on finishing watching Firefly (great series I think, but too short) and then maybe I can convince my wife to give it another go.

Scruff is very right. You COULD get a breakdown but it's not going to help you understand it better. I've attempted to dissect it this way and that and STILL come up with inconsistencies. That aside, it's a weird interpretation of Purgatory INTO The Afterlife. I don't think there ever was a Heaven/Hell in Abrams' story. That's just me though.

I got hooked immediately but you have to hit a hooking point early on for most shows.

Dexter is one I just can't get into and it's something right up my alley. Tried to watch the first 2 eps about 3 times and got bored quickly.

Firefly was such a gem and Fox had to fuck that up too like all the great shows. Such potential, a great cast and a fantastic blend of old style western meets futuristic elements. Serenity COULD'VE saved it completely...

I love the fact that the three main dudes (Filion, Tudyk and Baldwin) are in most of the Halo series! In Halo 3 they are regular marine voices, in ODST they are Buck, Romeo and Dutch, and we hear Buck again in Reach (New Alexandria!). Pretty awesome!

Much agreed!! My FF voice rarely strays off Bucks and my model is either ODST or my interpretation of The Meta.

LOL I got into RvB late myself but I fell in love with The Meta aka Agent Maine.

He's a character in Red vs Blue that precedes the RvB characters in a Spartan-like program called Project Freelancer. Each member is codenamed after a State with a few exceptions and tested with Abilities and AI's. After much explanation I don't want to get into, the program shut down and Agent Maine went sort of Rogue going after all the Agents that received equipment and AI.

Think of him like Predator meets Sylar (Heroes) in Spartan Armor. He's one mean mother ducker. If you know who Tex is from the series, The Meta is described as "8 of her" lol
