Still not seen this...and now I'm more inclined to go watch Prometheus.

Sucks that the US got a special scene, but in that sort of situation my response is always "yeah, but they got a shit version of Final Fantasy X"
I would be jelly and sad if I actually enjoyed FFX

And again, the scene wasn't anything that you should even try to YouTube or something.

I think it's safe to discuss all the Avengers individual flicks in here for the duration as well since they all do completely link.

What are your guys thoughts on any of the upcoming Iron Man 3 revelations?

I'm partially miffed on the recent showing of someone donning the supposed Iron Patriot armor which cuts out the indication of Norman Osborn wearing it or the huge but tiny hope that they'd finally start fully cameo'ing other established Marvel film characters.

So far, we have 3 possible threats to Tony:

The Mandarin
Eric Savin aka Coldblood aka (possibly) Iron Patriot
Extremis!

My theory is that while or during Stark going to China to find/face off with the Mandarin, Savin is going to frame or attempt to replace Stark as a traitor or something. Maybe even dead with the introduction of Drs Aldrich and Hansen as they were both creators of the Extremis virus!

I haven't heard anything about Iron Man 3 - where are your sources?

Lists cast - Google either of the Drs and it's all Extremis. If you're unfamiliar, long story short is Tony eventually has his armor infected by a "living computer virus". It's eventually countered (and Idk how much it will respect this) But Extremis was pretty much INSIDE Tony's Bones. It comes out of his skin and envelops his body.

Lays out the most likely "secondary" villain.

Now that I think about it, and semi-OT, I'm actually insanely curious as to who's going to play J. Jonah Jameson for Amazing Spiderman. J.K. Simmons was absolutely PERFECT.

Simmons will be hard to beat! I loved him as Jameson!

over at IMDB it doesn't look like Jameson is in this film at all.

On a side note - I love the fact that Stan Lee does cameos in all Marvel movies!

All too true! Once i found out he was Cave Johnson from Portal 2, he reached new respects from me.

WHAT?!?!? I have to look into this. I hope they at least keep peter young and not zip his life ahead like 4 years in the first 45 minutes of the film.
It would make sense not to stick him at the Bugle yet but, again, my major complaint is it's following the Ultimate universe. Blech. Action DOES look impressive. If it was DC, I wouldn't touch it. Much like I'm writing off Batman as of late. Marvel is king when it comes to adaptations or redemption IMHO.

Stan has cameo'd in EVERYTHING - Comics, animated series, games, etc. He's the king of Cameos and he's never egotistical about it. The man created some of the greatest fictional role models for kids and adults the world over. He deserves to put his awesome face wherever he wants.

EXCELSIOR TRUE BELIEVER!!

I had stated my opinion on this, and yes, (as this is not a spoiler) Norton would have been better to retain his role as Banner for continuity sake. However, for me, Ruffalo sold Dr Banner far more convincingly than Norton as a tired, wore-down and burned-out scientist.
Lets just say, then, that both actors were extremely good for their roles as Banner!

As for the other point,:

For one who loves em but hasn't listened to one in a while, I'm VERY excited to hear the commentary on the DVDs

Also, Avengers hit the #3 spot in the box office records.

Take that Harry Pussy Potter!!

this is all very helpful! It makes sense that Banner became the "mindless beast" trying to kill Widow & Thor because he was, as Gengo said, "caught off guard." He transformation was not a choice, but an instinctual defense against the threat that knocked him out.

I'll grant that Ruffalo was a better Banner; but I think the "continuity factor" outweighs this a bit IMO.

Add this: I loved all the scenes that showed them working together, as a team! They were clearly so much more powerful when acting in concert than alone.

The continuity factor was, in fact, RUINED with Norton. They changed the whole backstory but still said it "wasn't a reboot". Like the first film did...but didn't happen. That just killed it for me.

The first movie was a fantastic origin aside from the inclusion of Absorbing Man as his father and no mention at all of Rick Jones. AND they still screwed that up massively.

I hated the revised origin with Banner testing it on himself to stop Ross from using it as a weapon. Ruffalo played Banner very well nervously. Norton just didn't have that. He still seemed "sure of himself"

You obviously have much more exposure to the Hulk's history than I do :)

I never saw the Bana Hulk film - horrible reviews kept me away.

Also, I personally had a bigger problem with the switch from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle than I did with Norton to Ruffalo - continuity be damned! Howard was a better Rhodes and Ruffalo a better Banner, of course that is just my opinion.

Your assumption on the quote is EXACTLY what solidified that theory for me! Kudos!

That aside, I very much agree. Only reason I dig it is b/c Cheadle looks like the comic Rhodey but I love Terrance and he sold me. Shame I heard it was him being kind of a dick. Not sure though.
