Fair enough but still, you're mixing my, let's say jaded opinion with my intolerances. Again, I speak against it and how it's laughable but I NEVER say they SHOULDN'T. But Yes, I can be a bit aggressive with it but...Go Big or Go Home.

I respect your opinion on me though. You're a very cool dude in acceptance and such. I'd say I'm the same just a bit more outspoken with my opinions. They're just strong, not enforced. I'm glad you question me though. THAT'S how you learn about me. You only encounter my true rage filled posts if you just stick your nose in and thumbs up the opposer or something w/o getting a real take on What's Going On. Assuming. I HATE assuming!

And it's not about just my disagreement. I WAS faithful (not strict) but I've done my research is all. Shit dude, Ask me things about me that pop in your head. Just as much about my writing, I'm very open to criticism. It isn't my intention to piss off everyone I come into contact with but if something rubs you wrong and you don't understand it - Ask. People act like I'm going to bite their head off due to my posts.

That saddens me.

Also - I DON'T know everything. That's my whole platform vs. the relgious. I like to learn things outside of a 2000 year old book. My sole interest in other religions, just to see what they're about, has been met with very hostile replies and remarks from most groups. You should've heard this christian woman go off on me b/c I read some of the Quran. I was immediately deemed "against the christian God." I'm met with a LOT of unrelented stuff like that, so I hope that explains my degree of arguments more
I appreciate the ongoing conversation, Psycko. You're a gifted writer and may take it for granted how powerful your words can be! Maybe something to take away from this is that trying to convey your opinion in writing is better in gray hues than black and white constructs (which I think you would agree with me on).

These gray hues (mainly meaning there is a hint of, "I don't know for sure, but . . .") don't equate to selling out or trying to be someone else. It means crafting your writing for your audience so that they receive the maximum impact, if that makes sense. You obviously are not intending to alienate others. It might be helpful if your writing style was more in line with your intention (IMO) in order to avoid misunderstanding and such.

Scott... It's gonna get weird, real fucking weird.

I'm going to drive the few hours to meet you in person. We'll sit down over a cup of Joe - I'm a Quad Shot Nonfat Latte guy. As someone raised in a Southern Baptist household, who holds a vastly different perspective now, it'd be badass to have a civil conversation.

I don't get it often. I am usually confronted with fire and brimstone and the threats that I'll burn in something called hell. Not sure what that is, but something called "Eternal Damnation" because I like porn is scary :X
AJ, that would be awesome! Though I am not much of a debater (I usually think better in writing than in speaking), so I would be more interested in getting to know each other's stories rather than trying to change them ;)

Lumping all people into the same bucket is unfair, and dangerous. Only sociopaths deal in absolutes.

Sometimes it is necessary to have labels. War for example.
Maybe I'm dense, Chuck, but can you elaborate on what you mean? That's a nice way to say I have no idea what you're talking about.

Though I am not much of a debater
I don't want a debate my brother, just a conversation. You're a bit long in the tooth for me to try to impact your opinion. :O J/k.

We'll make it happen sometime this summer. The first annual Aslans and SgtMaj Halo Social meetup.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm not an asshole. Just passionately opinionated. I'm very glad for the verbal exchanges of understanding. It's just my presentation and I can see if it's powerful but I don't make absolute statements unless I have a form of reference.

Thanks for your questioning openness sir. As well as you Ajj, Chuck, Coux and Scruff. This is my example of learning about another...and I humbly accept y'all :)

I was just throwing more controversial fuel to the conversation. What I mean is that you need to dehumanize (or label) the enemy in war for soldiers to function.

I think I know what you mean by that. So, dehumanizing (assigning a label) provides justification for killing the enemy?

I take it to mean that in war, your commander/government tells you who the "enemy" is ("enemy" = label) and that's who you go after. Without the designations, "Enemy" or "Friendly," there could be no success in combat.

Yep. Like if we were playing Halo, I wouldn't normally shoot you with a DMR because you are a good guy. But if I had blue armor on and you had red, I will shoot you without a second thought.

I've never tried Chick-Fil-A and now I can be thankful I haven't. Does it really matter to your business if you care or not???

You're a chicken restaraunt. Sell chicken. THAT'S IT. Keep your views to yourself. It has no place in marketing for food.

Ouch. America being America there are bound to be LOADS of companies who secretly harbour an anti-gay stance but still... no need to go shouting it from the rooftops :bag:

That's what I'm saying. I don't even care if people eat their food. It's the fact that they HAVE to let the public know where they stand.

I'm vocal about my opinions but if I opened a restaraunt, bookstore, franchise of any kinds - I leave my personal views out of it. Anything that is potentially going to negatively affect my sales has no business in my business.

And here's an awesome solution - Eat their chicken but don't support them. Works for me

I love these books too. They're surprisingly accurate if you make the stuff right. I've made a Wendy's Frosty, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and a McDLT.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/father-dashes-wish-dream-daughter-171332697.html

Here's a good one. The little girl has been fighting cancer for 2 years and was in line for a wish from the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. The girl suddenly goes into remission (remember, remission does NOT mean cured) and the father yanks the wish request claiming "She's too healthy"

While I'm a very outspoken person with saying some livid things, that are more or less just heated words, I actually think this shithead DESERVES cancer for that. Again, stuff like this is mostly just me blowing my top off but that's because deep down, I'm a truly compassionate person. I'm very much usually in the underdogs or "the little guys" corner. I hate unfair injustices more than anything.
