This is horrific and very sad. Incredibly tragic. In the UK, we had the same thing, the infamous Cumbria Shootings on 2nd June 2010 by Derrick Bird (hyperlinked). It pretty sick, and very upsetting. My thoughts are with the families in Seattle today, from the brave public who phoned, reported, gave CPR (whilst the gunman was still present), and generally helped, to the victims who had to witness scenes no person should ever see. Not to make light of this at all, but where in the world was Phoenix Jones??? I sometimes wonder what I would do in a situation like this, if I saw it happening. You just never know until you're actually in it, but it is helpful nonetheless to think about it. Hope I never have to be in that situation, and would never wish it on anyone else, for sure. saw this update today. The hero said this: "My brother died in the World Trade Center," the man, identified as Lawrence Adams, later told police. After his brother's death, he said, he resolved that if something like this ever happened, "I would never hide under a table." |

NOBODY knows how they're going to react in a situation until it happens. That's a fact. Fear or adrenaline aren't easy to overcome when they suddenly wash over you without control. It's human nature - Chaotic. One person might suddenly jump out and attempt to disarm the suspect. Another will be a victim of the well known term "Frozen with fear". Sadly I haven't been keeping up on these. I've read/seen enough on shootings being a New Yorker. Stories like these are the reasons I stopped reading the papers
