For some reason, the site of his best bud at the door did nothing to relax Ben, in fact he felt as though he were wound even tighter than before, if that was even possible. Watching her as she walked toward the fridge, Ben tried to shake the feeling that there was something up. It had been nagging at him since the day in the gym, and he was beginning to wonder if maybe, just maybe, there was something to it.

"Uh, yeah. When Narky Larky and Tomo showed up I skittled. Glad to see you got out all right, though I had no doubt you would." Leaning back in the chair, Ben stretched his arms out above his head and yawned widely. He couldn't believe it was five am already. His parents would no doubt be getting up soon to do whatever it was parents did. They wouldn't worry bout him, that much he was sure of. As long as Jemma was safe in her bed, they would be just peachy. She was there little angel after all, and Ben was just the black sheep of the family.

Wondering where everyone else was, Ben cast a glance around the place. Usually after they had been 'sprung' they would go there separate ways and come back to the hanger before dawn, but he and Max where the only two to show up so far.

Which is just fine by me. Ben blinked and looked away, coughing furiously at the thought. He had a girlfriend. A very needy, sometimes irritating beautiful annoying girlfriend, and Max was his best mate. End of story. There was nothing there to worry bout. She was just one of the guys. It was that simple. It didn't matter that the thought of Max coming anywhere near him made him panic, and that he had to give himself a kick up the but whenever he caught himself looking at her that way. So far, he had managed to avoid the thought of her as anything other than a friend, but it was less easy when they were alone and his mind was playing tricks on him. Standing up, Ben wandered over to one of the benches on the other side of the hanger. they would have to yell to talk, but his discomfort would be less noticeable from this distance. Unless max decided to move.
