Shrugging, Artemis stretched leisurely until she heard a satisfying pop in her shoulder joints. "You can get out of anything once you put your mind to it." She left the answer cryptic on purpose. It was one of the things that she liked to do...it kept her fellow team-mates mystified. Pulling out a bottle of water from her knapsack, she twisted the lid off and took a few satisfying gulps. Swilling the water around in the bottle, she watched Ben (on the other side of the room) busy himself in preparing a sandwich. "I say that we go over what went down last night before we do anything about tonight." Artemis was referring to the unwanted arrival of the two "cops". "Understanding history is the key to the future." That was Leora's old standby phrase. The older girl was glad that she wasn't as burdened with teenage drama as Max and Ben were. What a dilemma those two were in. Max was crushing on Ben who had a girlfriend; Ben was physically attracted to Max (maybe more, who could really tell) but felt it was wrong because they were best friends. Not only that, but Max really respected Ben's girlfriend. The only drama Artemis was involved in was maintaining her two seperate personas: Artemis and Leora. She'd been doing it for two years now, so there shouldn't be any problem there. "We need to see what we're doing right and what we're doing wrong in all of our races." Always the strategist, and anything to get the two younger teens' minds off of each other. |
