Three years ago one of the most important events in the wizarding world occured. It was three years ago that, on the night holding the final task in the TriWizard Tournament, Lord Voldemort was reborn. Let me refresh your memory incase you have forgotten: Three years ago, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry delightfully held the TriWizard Tournament. Conflict, suspicion, and worry arose even before the first tast, when Harry Potter's name was put into the Goblet of Fire. After completing the first two tasks, Harry found himself at the end of the final task, accompanied by Cedric Diggory. Deciding it was a fair tie, the two brave Hogwarts students grabbed the cup together, only to be transported to a graveyard. The cup had been a portkey. Cedric Diggory died that night from the killin curse Avada Kadavra, performed by Voldemort's assistant Wormtail, also known as Peter Pettigrew. That night, Harry watched Lord Voldemort return. That night, Harry fought Voldemort, saw his parents and other ghostly images of innocent people that died at Voldemort's hand, and finally brought Cedric's lifeless body back to his parents. Then, just under a year ago, Dumbledore himself died at the hands of Severus Snape. Death Eaters had attacked Hogwarts that night, and from then on the wizarding world has been in utter chaos. However, Hogwarts has been re-opened in memory of Dumbledore, and while it still has the most protection it possibly can, it's just not as safe with Dumbledore gone. The school year has only just begun, and there in an obvious drop in the number of students attending. Minerva McGonagall is the new Headmistress and remains the Transfiguration teacher. All of the original teachers have stayed, except for those teaching Potions and Defense Against The Dark Arts of course. Potions is noe being taught by a Professor Chartwright, an old friend of McGonagall's, and Defense Against The Dark Arts is being taught by Professor Navistuk. He seems fairly normal..but then again, the all do in the beginning. Hermione and Ron are in their seventh year now. Harry on the other hand, has not returned to Hogwarts. He's made his visit to the Dursley's one last time, as he promised Dumbledore he would, and is now staying in Hogsmeade. He's got himself a small cabin like shack to live in, somewhat like Hagrid's at Hogwarts, located near the area Sirius Black had used to stay hidden. A temporary home. As Hogsmeade is very close to Hogwarts, he is able to visit Ron and Hermione almost every day. Why didn't Harry Potter return to Hogwarts, the place he has called home for the past seven years? As you might already guess, he's desperately searching for the last remaining Horcruxes. Four more Horcruxes remain: The Locket, The Cup, The Snake, and something of Gryffindor's or Ravenclaw's. Two have already been destroyed: The Diary, by Harry himself, and The Ring, by Dumbledore. The Order is still going, and now that Harry's of age, he's joined as well. Lord Voldemort is getting stronger and stronger, and more death's and disappearances are being heard of. While Harry's searching for Horcruxes, Ron and Hermione have been leaving school to help Harry with every journey, just as they had promised. They've told the Headmistress that they're leaving to help Harry with a job Dumbledore left them, but that is all they will ever say. The battle that everyone has feared is here. The Order, along with the Ministry of Magic and everyone else on the good side, are trying to devise a plan to win against Voldemort and his Death Eater's once and for all. Harry however, knows it is impossible to finish him off for good unless the Horcruxes are found, and destroyed. He's almost positive he knows where the cup is, and is trying his very best to fulfill the wishes of Dumbledore. Students at Hogwarts are being watched carefully by all Professor's, but it seems that even with all the protection put onto the school, it's just not enough. For, to everyone's horror, not one but two students have been taken from the school. Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood. The Death Eaters that kidnapped the two students had also attempted to take Ginny Weasley away with them. Fortunately, she managed to hide, and get away from them, while Neville and Luna were taken by the hand of Death Eaters. At least, that's what Ginny has told McGonagall. The connection between the three? They were all members of the DA, they were all behind Harry, fighting at the Ministry of Magic just a few years ago. Is that why they're being harmed? Nobody knows for sure. All they know is that Hogwarts is no longer as safe as we once knew it to be. Teachers are confused and extremely worried, and students aren't allowed to go anywhere alone. When these two students were taken, they did not leave a peaceful little note pinned to a wall. Instead, they used unicorns blood, writing their message on the walls of one of the corridors. This message read, Two students have been taken right under your nose. The Dark Lord doesn't yet want to kill them, for he wants something in return. Until you figure out what he wants and leave it out by the forest for us to take, Luna and Neville will be constantly tortured. If we don't get what they want, they will be killed. Signed, VDA. Voldemort's Death Eaters. But where are Voldemort and his followers staying you might ask? The only people that know the answer to this are the death eater's themselves. The house of Death Eaters Alecto and Amycus has been the home and hiding place of these terrible people for almost half a year now. Equipt with curses and enchantments, it(like Grimmauld Place) is unplottable. That is where Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom are being held captive; being tortured. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are taking it into their hands not only to find the Horcruxes, but to find Neville and Luna. Harry feels, as he always does, that it is is fault his two friends have been taken. The war between good and evil is obviously here. History seems to be repeating itself once again, but despite the obvious clues that Lord Voldemort has truly returned, there are still the Skeptics and True Believers? |
