Not your usually fairytale beginning? No, I suppose it isn’t, but this isn’t your usual fairytale, particularly because it’s more of a story. This is life on a Caribbean island, in the seventeenth century. This is the life of the upper class, middle class, and lower class society. This is the life of an indentured servant. This is the life of a pirate. This is St. Kitts. In this world only one this is certain: appearances may be deceiving. The beggar man on the street corner is really a pirate, the couple by the bay have a terrible secret, the Governor himself has a past to hide. Everyone has a secret, just as everyone has a past.
