I've recently moved the babies into Bella's enclosure so I figured I'd snap a few pics of them checking things out. Also got a couple cute ones of Tempe with Brady. :) Enjoy.

A little change in the enclosure. Took out the vine on the floor so I can maintain a little easier.

I don't know how she managed to squeeze in there with Bella's big ol butt, but here's Tempe and Bella peeking out from a shared hide.

Aren't they just adorable?

They look very happy. I don't know anything about BP's... Is it safe to house muliple snakes like that?

BPs are found communally in the wild, so having multiples in one enclosure, as long as they have room to move around, doesn't stress them out at all. They'll move around their enclosure independantly, but when it comes to curling up for naps, they tend to gravitate to each other. The only time theres ever issues (and its rare) is during breeding seasons, sometimes males are known to be combatitive, which is more of a shoving war than anything else. (Combatitive behavior is very common in retic males)

Awesome pictures, Kim!! So Bella and Tempe are getting along. Now poor Archer will be ganged up on. :P

Thanks K.. I did not know that. I like how reptiles like to form a big cuddle ball to sleep. It's so cute :)

Well that can be debated because in general snakes are solitary animals. The main danger is around feeding time. There have been cases of none cannablistic snakes including BPs eating other cage mates. Its one of those things aslong as you know risks and do your best to take steps to prevent any accidents then probably be fine but not worth the risk to me. I find it easier to house snakes seperate but thats me :). I know people that have had snakes housed together since babies for 20 years with no problems but then there are other cases that people were not so lucky.. So there are risks.

So far my guys are doing great together. Bella doesn't seem bothered at all by the new additions. As you can see, she's allowed Tempe to squeeze in the hide with her. LOL I keep a very close eye on these guys and keep them well fed, so I don't really anticipate any problems. As K said above, they move around the cage and explore independantly and there's plenty room for them to all 3 do so. I am prepared to seperate them should a problem arise, and I'll be moving Archer out as soon as he's a little bigger anyway. He'll need a bachelor pad before long. ;)

Most of the time, with bp's, though, its due to over crowding or issues like feeding them, then placing them back into the cage without wiping the rat smell off or taking one out to feed then it gets tagged when it replaced because, well, it smells like food.
Not saying there isn't incidences that the worst case scenario happens, but like you said, when precautions are taken and you don't invite a potential disaster, they can work together fine.

Oh crap! I'm glad you posted this comment. I've had the babies on a different feeding schedule then Bella until now. I never thought about wiping of the rat smell and making sure they feed on the same day. I'll be sure to work them into the same schedule and wipe them down before placing them back into the cage.

Thanks!

No problem. My brother had a burm incident a few years ago that could have been deadly. He fed one, put him back, then fed her. When she was put back she had a couple of flecks of blood on her tail from the rat, the male took one sniff and latched on to her tail and started wrapping coils around her.

Had he not been right there and caught it, she'd have been a goner.

That's a scary thought. Wiping the babies down will be no problem at all, wiping Bella however could prove to be quite an adventure. ;) I'd much rather have a Steve Irwin moment with her than for any of them to get hurt.
