HISTORY IN THE MAKING 2008-2016

Good luck!

We've spent a good many years discussing politics, life, society and history. Most of all, the makers of history. The great events that changed the world - people, places, actions. Small acts have changed its hard-worn course, and effort and circumstance can make of its small actors immortal greats. In line with that sentiment, it seems pertinent now to recognize the potential of those who've made up this community for years, obvious through their contributions to the spirited debate and discussion that has proceeded here. HITM has sadly gone silent, though perhaps not lacking for things to say about making history, but rather for the realization that it is time we all commenced to do so, and make our mark.

Good luck to you all, see you in the history books!

The Russians stayed in their original territory around Moscow. What would have happened with the rest of Russia? Would it be Chinese? French? Indian?

Siberia was rather empty, so it probably would have joined Mongolia (almost as empty).

China wouldn't have taken it, because they despised the northern Asians (Mongolians, Manchus, etc.). However, the coastal area might have been colonized by the Chinese.

I really can't picture the land being taken by anybody other than the Russians. They're the only people that could possibly want that land. :D

If Muscovy had never expanded, then we'd probably see Novgorod becoming equivalent to the nation we now today as Russia, and I can see them taking over this area. China is unlikely to take over Siberia, they never did when Russia didn't control it. Japan could take over parts of Siberia, such as the Kamchatka peninsula, but not to the extent to which Russia did.
