I have no say in the outcome of the US elections, let alone what goes on in the Whitehouse. Perhaps I never will. I am merely an Australian adolescent who lives in the modern World, dominated by one country's strong (yet diminishing) influence and several emerging organisations. I have no reason to be doing this, for it is likely no-one's mind will have changed by the time you've finished reading this. I simply wish to clear up some minor misunderstandings. For a start, I do not hate the US. I do not hate the Middle East. I do not hate any country, race, religion, or ideological view point. In fact, without meaning to brag you could say I am one of the least biased person many of you may know. I enjoy researching as much of the world as is humanly possible for one person. Illogical ideological hatred is for the peasant man drummed up to fight a battle. I am not one of those. Instead, I hate the individual. If one person is aggressive, arrogant and stubborn, I shall hate them, regardless of any background. If one person is friendly, I shall like them, regardless of any background. However, I may hate certain decisions. As these decisions must be biased, for they are either good or bad decisions in my opinion. I may not support a war, invasion or strike between two nations. In some cases I may agree that Country A should attack Country B, or Country C should leave Country D alone. However, that does not mean I hate Country A or C, respectfully, and it certainly doesn't mean I hate their people. For I am sure that there are citizens of Country A and C that support my argument as much as I do. And whilst my stance on said wars my be strong, good persuasion and looking at the other side of the story may swing my views. In fact, my views of one certain on-going war have been softened after viewing the movie Delta Farce (which a certain forum member will enjoy) and further research into the situation. Secondly, for perhaps my most least relevant statement, but still important, I will tell you this. As of 2009, you could consider me a Democrat, for I support it's head candidate (now the president-elect.) However, by 2012 that may change. I support whichever party's principles I agree with at the time. And let's be frank here, how much power does the president truly hold? ![]() My last statement coincides with my first statement; if there is anything in this world I do hate, it is hatred itself. Whenever I see or hear a person openly expression how a race, religion, or country is above all others, I will try and convince them otherwise. Every single nation, every spiritual belief, every single race and ethnic group and person has their positives and negatives. Whilst it is easy to be under the illusion that some places or ethnicities are better than others, one must remember that it is up to the individual, wherever they may be, to prove they are beyond what people already judge them too be. In a country engulfed in war, a person may be surrounded by greed, bloodshed and hatred. But for one to avoid the caught up in those things makes the person... human. We all have different ideas of perfection. |

Wow, that was very interesting to read!! I totaly agree with you, I think about humans and countries in exact the same way. Everybody is equal, doesn't care what you are, the only thing that matters is that you are a good person. Hate is such a big word... You used the good words for it ![]() |

Yes, I agree. Very well said Lazurath. Especially the Changing political views thing. Right now, I hate republicans because of what they do, and I like democrats because they are the closest equivalent to the democratic socialism present in the Canadian government, which has given me a life that I wouldn't trade. Once republicans sharpen up a bit, or maybe when bush's legacy dies down, I might actually like them. TBH with you commie, Bush is a subject of ridicule in Canada, and it's often his intellegence. I'm not nearly as good at the written word, but man, can I do a speech. Speaking final I had (how do you assess a speaking final?????) was on cats, and I got the highest mark in the school's history. What makes that more spectacular, I care about talking about cats about as much as I care about the letter "u" on my keyboard. |

"There are strange things done in the midnight sun, by the men who moil for gold; the arctic trails have their secret tales that'd make your blood run cold... the Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see... was that night on the marge of Lake LeBarge, that I cremated Sam McGee." - Robert W.
