HISTORY IN THE MAKING 2008-2016

Good luck!

We've spent a good many years discussing politics, life, society and history. Most of all, the makers of history. The great events that changed the world - people, places, actions. Small acts have changed its hard-worn course, and effort and circumstance can make of its small actors immortal greats. In line with that sentiment, it seems pertinent now to recognize the potential of those who've made up this community for years, obvious through their contributions to the spirited debate and discussion that has proceeded here. HITM has sadly gone silent, though perhaps not lacking for things to say about making history, but rather for the realization that it is time we all commenced to do so, and make our mark.

Good luck to you all, see you in the history books!

Congratulations. We have all just experienced an extremely historic moment in the United States and the world perhaps. I do not know what the future holds, or if there is good change coming, but I can say we can hope for the best and no matter how much you dislike If you truly love the United States as an American, you will respect him.

Ole George, he was a good one, now let us have a moment of silence to respect this man as Rommel has so kindly asked us to do.

That's a good sign. It shows the world that politicians (particularly the President) are people just like everybody else. It seems that lately Americans have been living in this pretense that politicians ought to be perfect people.

I will correct you. Obama DID NOT mess up on his oath. The Chief Justice messed up reciting it. That is why he paused to give him a chance to alter his language.

When the American people are largely ignorant and blind to politics I do think that a "human" polition is what is realy needed. Maybe a Martian would be nice

But besides, Rommel *gasp* is right, the Cheif Justice messed up.

Something that was inevitable under the republican administration.

^ Example of how everyone's going to belittle every mistake Obama makes in the future.

But yes, it was the Chief Justice's fault.

I never said I would belittle all his mistakes, only those that are actually little.

And I couldn't tell whose fault it was. I was watching it in class and everybody was talking so I could hardly hear.

I wasn't really referring to you. I was just trying to show how the MSM is going to make every good thing Obama does look like the greatest thing ever, and belittle every mistake he makes.

It makes me sick!
