HISTORY IN THE MAKING 2008-2016

Good luck!

We've spent a good many years discussing politics, life, society and history. Most of all, the makers of history. The great events that changed the world - people, places, actions. Small acts have changed its hard-worn course, and effort and circumstance can make of its small actors immortal greats. In line with that sentiment, it seems pertinent now to recognize the potential of those who've made up this community for years, obvious through their contributions to the spirited debate and discussion that has proceeded here. HITM has sadly gone silent, though perhaps not lacking for things to say about making history, but rather for the realization that it is time we all commenced to do so, and make our mark.

Good luck to you all, see you in the history books!

Are you kidding me? I was able to read when I was 4-5. I remember memorizing all the cheats for AOE1. :P

@ Laz: That's not what I meant. <_< I meant that the Soviets were scared of Israel, not the other way around. And that Palestine didn't exist at the time.

Spain has begun it's War-Crimes Case against Israeli military officials. Now the world shall follow (or at least Europe).

Spanish law allows the prosecution of foreigners for war-crimes committed abroad.

So Spain is gonna invade Israel? Or boycut them? Yeah! That'd bring Israel to its knees! ;/

'Nuff said.

The European Union can run its semen-filled mouth as much as it wants, they aren't going to do anything to anyone.

Read the article. It didn't say the EU, it said Spain. And, by the way, Israel is in Europe, and therefore under the jurisdiction of the European Union. Don't ask me why it's considered to be part of Europe, I have no idea. But it apparently is.

But what interests me is how in the world does a Spanish court put foreigners under trial without causing international incidents?

Spain is going to use its military to defeat Israel's (which happens to be the 3rd largest and most advanced in the world) and take Barak to The Hague where he will be prosecuted for war crimes. Then peace will reign in the Middle-East.

What can I say? Canadian folks are smart.
I was reading at a grade 12 level in 5th grade!

First grade here.

That may have been misconstrued..... I was reading at kindergarten. I had a grade 12 reading level by grade 5, and now I'm well into university reading levels.

I was reading at kindergarten as well, but reading has always been one of my big strengths, academically.

I could read perfectly at the age of 10, that's quite late.

Depending on the grade level you were reading at, 10 isn't really bad at all.

Is it? Most childeren here can read at age 8 or 9.

I could read at 4 nubs. :P

I wasn't just talking about Spain, but it seems that so many countries jump on whoever the local villain of the week to try to look good (And the Western International community is infamous for this, whether it's the EU, UN or even the damned League of Nations). Apparently, that villain is Israel. Ten years ago, it was the Palestinians.

And I think the reason the Spanish get away with it is because they're the Spanish, and quite frankly nobody really takes them seriously anymore. If a country like say, China or the U.S. tried to do it, the international community would be speaking in tongues and screaming and pointing their fingers.

You can't think yourself why they would be considered as a part of Europe? No? Okay I will tell you, only because they are not allowed to be part of the Arabian community, the closest pro-Israelian community is the European one so that's why they are also allowed to join the Eurovision Songcontest.

So they're like Turkey then? Not allowed in the Middle East so they join Europe (where they also don't fit)?

Yes, but they don't join Europe(the Union) they just play a part in cultural things etc.
