HISTORY IN THE MAKING 2008-2016

Good luck!

We've spent a good many years discussing politics, life, society and history. Most of all, the makers of history. The great events that changed the world - people, places, actions. Small acts have changed its hard-worn course, and effort and circumstance can make of its small actors immortal greats. In line with that sentiment, it seems pertinent now to recognize the potential of those who've made up this community for years, obvious through their contributions to the spirited debate and discussion that has proceeded here. HITM has sadly gone silent, though perhaps not lacking for things to say about making history, but rather for the realization that it is time we all commenced to do so, and make our mark.

Good luck to you all, see you in the history books!

Please do NOT tell me that you switched search engines because of political reasons...

Well, I've been disgusted with Google for months now, but there was no better alternative. Then I tried Bing, and the rest is history.

As much as I disagree with the basis of your choosing which search engine to use, that is your personal decision to do so and as such I must respect that. Plus, we all know another debate'll go nowhere.

Well not debate, but whatever it is we do, it'll go back and fourth. I could've easily said then "Google is only doing what's best for its economic interests" and would've had to explain your reasons for them sucking up to China and it would've gone on and on and gotten nowhere.

Um, I've already told you I wasn't going to argue about anything with you anymore.

But please don't derail the thread.

I haven't checked the news today, but what happened? Yesterday Google said they were going to pull out of China if the govt. there didn't unscrew their cyber-behavior. Did Google flip flop?

Google only loses in passing the Schoolpass filter.
It's too popular, so you can't get through on its cache, but Yahoo's works wonderfully for the job :D

by the men who moil for gold; the arctic trails have their secret tales that'd make your blood run cold...
the Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see...
was that night on the marge of Lake LeBarge, that I cremated Sam McGee."

No, I think they threatened to pull out of China because the Chinese hacked into G-Mail or something. They had no problem censoring anti-Chinese news before that.

They're a company making money.
Don't you support capitalism, legend?

Sure. They're free to do whatever they want. Doesn't mean I have to support what they do.

I just hate how the nuts didn't think to add a sideways scrollbar. Other than that, I love Chrome :D
