HISTORY IN THE MAKING 2008-2016

Good luck!

We've spent a good many years discussing politics, life, society and history. Most of all, the makers of history. The great events that changed the world - people, places, actions. Small acts have changed its hard-worn course, and effort and circumstance can make of its small actors immortal greats. In line with that sentiment, it seems pertinent now to recognize the potential of those who've made up this community for years, obvious through their contributions to the spirited debate and discussion that has proceeded here. HITM has sadly gone silent, though perhaps not lacking for things to say about making history, but rather for the realization that it is time we all commenced to do so, and make our mark.

Good luck to you all, see you in the history books!

What the... Where's Russia? :(

your mexican :hmm:

and I mean no racism by this post, just wondering why you always seem interested in Russia.

/facepalm

I have said it multiple times and I will say it yet again, don't listen to jacky's trolling. I am not Mexican. I was born in Russia, my parent are Russian (my mother is technically ukranian, though), I lived my childhood in Russia. Yet, due to the horrible economic situation in Russia after the collapse of the USSR, my parents were forced to move to another country.

Now, if you wondering why Mexico (instead of U.S.A., because, you must be like, why would we choose Mexico if some mexicans themselves don't want to live there):
1st, The ones who move to U.S.A. are actually either poor, or have some job that isn't really well-paid in Mexico as it is in 1st world countries such as U.S.A.
2nd, My father had a friend, who found him an actually well-paid job in one of the best Mexican educational institutions. Probably, my family would've experienced more difficulties when trying to get a job in the U.S.A.
3rd, The specific post my father currently works in is stable, he won't probably lose his job, and fall into unemployment.
4th, Apparently, due to less taxes for being foreigns or some shit, my father would receive almost the same payment it would have received in the U.S.A.
5th, Some other random factors, like, better climate; beautiful beaches; generally good, healthy, and delicious food; plenty of cultural and nice touristic places; etc...

Anyways, in some future, like, when Mexico would start running out of oil or when it comes to college studies, I will probably have to move to another country. Although I myself am not really sure about my future.

Technically Mexico is the most successful Latin American country, so it's not bad to stay there but ya alright I get it now. I thought you where a Mexican who for some reason was obsessed with Russia lol

Bolivia? How is it successful? Chile is kinda nice, though. My father went there on some conference. But, apparently, it's not as good as Mexico.
In my opinion, the best option in Latin America is Argentina. Maybe Venezuela, but... (jk)

I don't really know enough about that part of the world.
I can tell you a fair bit about pretty much anywhere in Europe, Asia, or Oceania (I've always been confused... is this the continent, or is Australia the continent???).

Africa and south America, not so much.

Chile is too centralized into their own capital like many latin american countries, including Chile. Mexico doesn't have the most powerful military but they have the best economy and aren't really centralized. Tourism has done wonders for them. My wish is that Peru one day returns to it's former glory <3

Mexico's economy is in no way oil-based. If it were, it wouldn't be poor.

The oil has all been sold at dirt-cheap prices, or as collateral for loans...

In short, the damned politicians stole all the money.
