HISTORY IN THE MAKING 2008-2016

Good luck!

We've spent a good many years discussing politics, life, society and history. Most of all, the makers of history. The great events that changed the world - people, places, actions. Small acts have changed its hard-worn course, and effort and circumstance can make of its small actors immortal greats. In line with that sentiment, it seems pertinent now to recognize the potential of those who've made up this community for years, obvious through their contributions to the spirited debate and discussion that has proceeded here. HITM has sadly gone silent, though perhaps not lacking for things to say about making history, but rather for the realization that it is time we all commenced to do so, and make our mark.

Good luck to you all, see you in the history books!

Agree. However, you can't do anything about those politicians. But, now, if politicians, needing money, can't get the money they are currently getting from oil... Mexico is pretty much fucked.

Bolivia? How is it successful? Chile is kinda nice, though. My father went there on some conference. But, apparently, it's not as good as Mexico.
In my opinion, the best option in Latin America is Argentina. Maybe Venezuela, but... (jk)

Lol, woops, I meant Uruguay (dunno how I confused those two  ), 'cause I read somewhere that it had the highest standard of living in Latin America, but it was probably just in Montevideo :P

I've been to South America a few times and I can easily say that Chile is the most successful Latin American country, small but well equipped and disciplined military, good economy, stable gov't, not many social problems, and European praise. Brazil follows closely, but Brazil has way too many social problems. Third is probably Argentina.

But in terms of attractive women. Colombia wins hands down.

No...because without per capita the one with the highest population wins...

That's Joe Biden.

He looks like a pedophile.....
He should stay away from dark glasses.
"There are strange things done in the midnight sun,
by the men who moil for gold; the arctic trails have their secret tales that'd make your blood run cold...
the Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see...
was that night on the marge of Lake LeBarge, that I cremated Sam McGee."

They can go to hell.

If the money had gone to the economy instead of their Swiss bank accounts since the 1920s, Mexico would be very prosperous.

Haha, once again, I agree.
But, well, that's the price for "democracy".

Well, Mexico as a whole is corrupt, I guess. If you look, most Mexicans are immoral and selfish hypocrites who will rob or cheat anyone out of their money and have no remorse about it.

There's even a saying in Mexico:

"El que no tranza no avanza."

"If you don't cheat, you don't progress."

GDP per capita doesn't matter, either.

You might have more money, but if the cost of living is higher, the extra money is meaningless.

For example:

$40,000 a year in Mexico vs the same money in the USA.

Rent for two bedroom two bathroom apartment in Mexico: $250 a month
In the US: $1000

Food... for example, a party bag of chips in the US is $10
In Mexico, they're $3.
