HISTORY IN THE MAKING 2008-2016

Good luck!

We've spent a good many years discussing politics, life, society and history. Most of all, the makers of history. The great events that changed the world - people, places, actions. Small acts have changed its hard-worn course, and effort and circumstance can make of its small actors immortal greats. In line with that sentiment, it seems pertinent now to recognize the potential of those who've made up this community for years, obvious through their contributions to the spirited debate and discussion that has proceeded here. HITM has sadly gone silent, though perhaps not lacking for things to say about making history, but rather for the realization that it is time we all commenced to do so, and make our mark.

Good luck to you all, see you in the history books!

Sound familiar? Well, it is, except for one twist. The extremists are part of right-wing fundamentalist Christian group, who call themselves the Colonial Christian Republic, and their members are known as "Hutaree," a made up name supposedly meaning Christian Soldier.

Article here.

It is alleged they planned to kill a police officer in Michigan and then stage a second attack on the funeral, using landmines and roadside bombs.

Preparing for the Antichrist

The FBI raided properties in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana over the weekend in the belief that the group was planning a reconnaissance exercise.

"The indictment... outlines an insidious plan by anti-government extremists to murder a law enforcement officer in order to lure police from across the nation to the funeral where they would be attacked with explosive devices," said Attorney General Eric Holder.

"Thankfully, this alleged plot has been thwarted and a severe blow has been dealt to a dangerous organisation that today stands accused of conspiring to levy war against the United States."

And there website shows them in full military garb, apparently showing their skills they intended to wage war against the United States with.

I wonder if Dragon as his fellow DHS-listed Right-Wing extremists were part of that group :hmm:

These are the same as those "Christians" who go to soldier and police funerals and try to wreck havoc. Hardly an all-out war on the United States as with Islamic terrorists, but if they're politically motivated, of course they're terrorists too.

Their plan was flawed from the beginning. Why would law enforcement from all over the nation go to the funeral of one cop killed on the job? Maybe if they killed his entire family or something, but I doubt it. All the police can't just take the day off for one funeral.

Scion of the Midnight Sun

Fanatics like this tend to show themselves lacking the intelligence department.
I figure that's where the mindless zeal goes.
"There are strange things done in the midnight sun,
by the men who moil for gold; the arctic trails have their secret tales that'd make your blood run cold...
the Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see...
was that night on the marge of Lake LeBarge, that I cremated Sam McGee."

I am saddened by the fact that Christian terrorists are so much less competent than Moslem terrorists. These Hutaree dudes really did seem to be pretty stupid.
