So, a bunch of people have a protest, and the President leaves the country and a new government is formed? Great, stable democracy you got there, Kyrgy. |

Borat's 1st ally. Oh, and a country where both U.S. and Russia happen to have a military base installed in it. Edited by _Иван_, Apr 9 2010, 01:56 AM.

The US basically bribed Bakiyev into allowing us to have an airbase in Krygystan. He is an autocrat of the worst sort, and is certainly not a democratic leader in any way. While the air base is critical to efficient resuplly of our forces in Asscrackistan, I think our support of Bakiyev was ill advised. We should have supported the oppostion, which is at least trying to follow the will ofthe people. Then we could have established friendly diplomatic ties and bribed, errr, provided financial aid to a government that had the support of its citizens. Now that they booted Baklyev, it is going to be much harder to maintain our base because we dissed the incoming government, and didn't follow our own principles. Although I am no Obama fan, I generally respect his defense policies. The way he handled Krygystan was absolutely pitiful. I am noticing that Obama's diplomatic gaffs are actually undermining the military successes he has been able to achieve. I never would have thought that the only thing I like about a democratic president would be his defense policy.
