Hi from Sunny Cromer I have just been offered a caravan, a Hobby Prestige, it looks clean and tidy inside and out (accept for a small crack in the rear lights, could be repaired) and wants £1,500 for it. This person is friend of the family, a local farmer wife and she has not used it for 18 months. Is there any thing I should look for, there is no damp that I could see. Any advice would be appricated ie how old it is, (as her husband bought it but since past away and they bought it second hand), the model etc. Many thanks Gary |

The A frame has a white plastic cover over it so the van cannot be any older than 1999...Form the side you poto'd, it looks like a 650..Look at the other side of the van at the front and you will find a small metal plate giving chassis number etc...At top of plate in a samll silver box you will find model number i.e. 650, 660 or whatever...look at chassi number that begins WHB about halfway along you will see the letter F, it is the letter or number to the right of this that tells you the age...w=98...X=99...Y=2000 and then from 2001 onwards it just has a number instead of a letter....1=2001....2=2002 etc..That van is right money, it's what you would expect to get if you traded it in..If you don't like it after you've got it then put in Ebay and the daft heads on there will pay £4000 plus for it Cheers Hobbynut Edited by Hobbynut, Apr 28 2009, 05:36 PM.
