| Basic Rules
1) We do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, shape, size, and political affiliation, length of time on the board, personal values or species. As a member of this board, we expect you to follow this same example. If you refuse to follow this rule, you will be banned instantly
2) Conversation of a sexual nature, between an adult and a minor, is ILLEGAL. Engaging in role play, chat, telephone conversations, webcam, etc as an adult (over 21) with persons under the age of 18 will not be tolerated. Not only will you be banned from this site, you will be reported as a sexual predator. Please also see the Rules of Roleplay for our site specific rules regarding sexual roleplay (It is not allowed!!!)
3) No advertising anywhere on this board other than the Advertising forum. No links in signatures, except to your personal profile on this site.
4) Please be respectful to other members. If you feel that you are being harassed, please notify the admin.
5) Decisions made by administrators are final.
6) Please Allow a MINIMUM of 24 hours for answers to all questions or concerns. The administrators are not here 24/7 and it some times takes time for them to get back to you. Please be patient
7) Do not test your titles/siggys/avvys anywhere put the signature testing forum. This is to keep the forums easy to read and free of clutter
8) Please do NOT post in any forum other than Platform 9 3/4 until your application has been approved. Failure to follow this rule will result in application denial
Roleplay Rules
1) No Power Playing.
2) No God Modding.
3) This site is rated PG-13. No excessive swearing, gratuitous violence, or conversation of a sexual nature is allowed. If you have a particularly scary or violent situation please be sure to rate your post using Rated G or PG
We have members as young as eleven on this site, and this rule is intended to make this site suitable for all ages.
4) All posts must take place in the third person, must be in the past tense and must be at least three lines long. No one-liners, please
5) Please only use age-appropriate spells.
Application Rules
*Important* When registering..Register with your character's name!!
1)This is an rpg based on the Harry Potter books. We try and stay as true to the books as possible.
We do NOT Allow the following
-Characters with abilities NOT found in Harry Potter books
-Characters with psychic abilities of ANY kind (pre and post cognitive, ESP, Telekenesis, touch-see, etc)
-Characters from the future
-Alien Characters (Your character must be from the planet earth)
-Characters based on a character from another rpg (Final Fanasy, WoW, EQ, Zelda, etc)
-Characters from Lord of The Rings (Elves, Orcs, Ents, Hobbits, etc)
-Characters that are descended from royalty
- "famous" Characters
2) Special Abilities
-Special Abilities are given out on a case by case basis.
These you may not have if apply as a student:
Parselmouth
Seer
Leglimens/Occlumens
Animagus-Only adults may possess this ability and only after they have reached 700 posts.
The ability to Apparate
3) As a wizard, the only weapon you will ever need is your wand.
4) Wizards enter school at age eleven and have their own trends and such. Please stay true to your heritage
5) We do allow you to play canon characters, A list of the canons that are available for play can be found in the "Canon Character Application" forum, which is a subforum in the Member Applications forum. However, we do have some rules for canons:
* You MUST have over 700 posts.
*The canon MUST be your primary character, and you must rp with him/her regularly.
*Your rp sample MUST be as your canon.
If these rules are not adhered to, then you are subject to losing your canon.
6) Please do not have a mary sue type character. No one is perfect so your character cannot be perfect. Your character is human and therefore has human quaities.
7) We do not allow student characters to possess more power or magical knowledge than is appropriate for their age group.
8) You may make your character any year you like, but you must remain that year/age until you have reached the appropriate number of posts. The number of posts needed is 500 or gradution from exams- whichever comes first.
