Sometimes it was just hard work staying inside the castle and even though the day was cold, the sky was blue and it just seemed too nice to be stuck in staring at one text book after another whilst trying to do some work. After all, there was only so much work one could do without being in Ravenclaw house. It seemed like a much better idea to get outside and work on training for the quidditch team. Slytherin had to win this year or else he was going to eat the sorting hat! Dressed in a Slytherin green tracksuit, Jace had abandoned the common room and made his way down to the lake. It was one of his favourite places in Summer and although the water was still and black and cold, there was still a stark sort of beauty to it with ice edging around the sides of it where Winter had taken its hold. Jace stared out over the edge and after stretching, began jogging around the edge of the lake, slowly building up speed as the castle itself vanished out of view. Jace was happy to run alone and was enjoying the peace and quiet when something caught his eye along the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Movement. Jace slowed, looking curiously over to his left and then came to a halt, hand slipping to his pocket to pull out his wand. There were strange things in the forest, dangerous things he would much rather not encounter. "Show yourself," he demanded in a much braver voice than he actually felt. |

Grey emerged from the woods in the form of a timber wolf. It was the first form Valhalla (Or Professor Adonis as she was now forced to call her) had taught her to change into. Since that was Valhalla's animagus and so easier for Grey to focus on and copy. Grey had been born with a disability which made her what others would call a shape shifter, she was able to pick up different animal forms almost at will. The problem with this was that if she was not careful then she could end up stuck in one form or another premanently unless someone got her out of it. The timber wolf was a form Grey had rehersed changing into multiple times and so there was no danger of being stuck once she wanted to change back. She looked up at the Slytherin boy with her golden eyes. ~Do I have some fun with this kid or do I play it cool?~ she could sense that he was afraid. Edited by Grey Skylark, Nov 12 2010, 11:38 PM.

Jace wasn't exactly sure what he had expected to see emerge from the woods. He had also not really expected anything to show itself, very few things in life worked on commands such as that and if they did they were not usually as scary as things that went their own way. However a wolf appearing in front of him was not what he had expected at all. He held his ground, although every instinct he had was screaming to run away. Animals could sense fear and if he ran it would be like suggesting he was the prey. Prey was chased. Prey was eaten. Jace did not want to be prey. Instead he looked down at the wolf, hazel eyes emotionless. "Hello there pup," he said to the full grown wolf which looked nothing at all like a puppy. "What are you doing here?" |

Grey looked at the boy for a moment, she could see he was scared and was just putting on a charade in order not to show her he was frightened. It was typical 'don't eat me' behavior and Grey was actually glad she had not opted for changing into a Dragonne today (A chimera she made up that was part dragon and part lion) otherwise the boy might have wet himself. Moments later where the wolf had been Grey stood in its place. She swept a few twigs from her Slytherin robes and smoothed out her hair. She then scanned the boy with her blue eyes. "What are you doing so close to the forest?" she asked. |
