I said it in the chat and I'll say it here. I'm 100% behind HTV (hence why I brought it up) and would help in any way nescerary if it happens. Now, to those who are new here, they wanted somebody to explain what HTV is to new players, so I'll do my best. You got a certain amount of networks (3 in fm), each run by a network head, who air weekly television programing. Anyone can pitch ideas to them, just like with regular HTG, and just like with regular HTG, networks will decide to pick up the best shows for their season. The main difference is the simple fact that rather than writing one long movie, you'll be writing a "season" of a television series (most likely 10 episodes). In other words, you have essentially 10 small stories making up an entire season, as you would in any tv show. A new ep would air every week on the day you're scheduled, and players would vote, just like they would in the theaters, only instead of being measured in the total dollars to make, it measures the week to week ratings of every episode of every show, and in the end, we get the final ratings of every show and based from that, you get paid your money. The advantages of that you can tell a long far reaching story over multiple episodes, even seasons, if you choose (rather than in movies where you gotta crunch your entire story into a single thing.), or if you don't, you could make multiple stand alone stories following the same characters, sitcom style. You just have so much more freedom in HOW you can tell your story, which is the biggest advantage of this. Also, it offers an alternative for those of you who just DON'T want to write a huge movie, but still want to be involved in the game. You could realistically play a big part in this game just by writing weekly short scripts essentially. |

I'm with NT on this. Hence why we brought up the idea in IRC. I'm behind HTV 100% and am willing to help out in any way possible. |

I think it should start up as well. This could be a great way for many of the Film Tycoon peeps to make their presence known. From what I've seen many of them like writing in the short story type format which fits very well with the tv show aspect. |

I wouldn't mind seeing it brought into the game, but in several months so we have time to build up a player base. |

I vote no for a quickfire release of HTV, sorry. This kind of large scale development needs time to be developed. It's almost as much work as developing the game over again. There's other things that need ironing out first. The arthouse genre is more important imo. Sureshot |

Well I don't think we mean to implement HTV like next week or anything. It's sort of putting the seeds in people's heads so that they can start producing shows and ideas for when it would start. That way when a finalized date is set we can start going from the get go instead of having to wait 2-3 more months for people to finish writing their shows. |

Well you see, Arthouse would be introduced with a such a word limit of 5000 words, but only for a limited time. This would, caiter to the Film Tycoon people who are used to there 3000 word limit. And like I said, the the word limit is for a limited time, kind of like a way to ween them off of a word limit and introduce how we do things at HTG. During this limited time, HTV would be created. When the word limit limited time is up, HTV is introducing giving the FT people who wish to remain writing smaller scripts to continue to do so and the ones who wish to create larger scripts to do so aswell. Its a perfect oppurtunity to educate the Film Tycoon people in our game and also the absolute perfect way to kick off HTV and really make it flourish like a well oiled machine. |

Writing in the short story type format is something we are used too and this is something that was tossed around over at FT. I realize I am new here BUT I like the idea. |

I'm for the bringing back of TV networks, to some players they were just as important as movies in FM. |

I always liked (not loved) FMTV, and I'd like to see a similiar format here at some point. Could be fun to revisit at some point here.

I'm also for the "NO" vote on this topic. It's just way to early to even think about it. Josh gave me one advice: Wait for HTGTV for at LEAST 4 months IF the game runs smoothly and the player base is large enough. |

NO also... We can't even fill up the calendars yet... How the hell would we support HTGTV too... I agree with Corey's post though. We should implement Arthouse/DVDs first and then ease into HTGTV once we get enough active players. |
