Yo

Just thought i'd follow the trend and make a game of my own. I noticed that people with wheat and flour allergies are badly catered for in the movie sim community. So here it is...

On a serious note. Don't we all share one common interest? Are we so different we need ninety-twelve different versions of one game with a handful of members in each. This game is neither FM nor FT it's also a work in development. Everyone here has a say in how this game progresses. Why not work together instead of against each other?

Just my two cents.

I completely agree with you guys on this one.

Plus, I like your use of the word "ninety-twelve" :P

I agree to an extent. Although we are all bonded in a common interest, FT and HTG were and are very very different. FT is more laid back and you can release a million and nine movies a week if you like. HTG is more serious and though you can have fun, it is relativley hard to get a movie off the ground. Also much more work is expected to go into a script (i.e. format, structure, etc).

I was an FMer before I went to FT and now I cant see getting used to an FM type format again. Being comfortable with the format of the site is why I am making "Mini FT". Its an outpost for ex-FTer's to go to until FT's possible but unlikley return.

As for the slew of Hollywood sim's currently created, so many FTer's want to keep the spirit of FT alive.

Thank you and enjoy the show.

Look, man. I just wanted this to be fun. Yeah, ninety-twelve of them might be too much...

But why the fuck should there be only one option? Now that FT is gone, we have no other alternative. I just wanted to give the ex-FTers a chance to take back the power they had in FT, since you guys seem to like the idea that nobody should be successful unless they walk on coals and eat twelve cockroaches (gratuitous reality TV reference). I just thought it would be fun if I made a FT-FM-HtG version to my image. I like some of the ideas here, but I like to just have fun like in FT.

Well that's my 18 cents, and sorry for having dreams and ambitions.

screw ball, you're right. You can do another game if you want to. No one can stop you.

Dark Dynamite: You can release in any format that you want. During FM, most people liked to release full scripts. But our head-honcho Josh was always against 120 page scripts and would've loved them to be much shorter.

All I'm saying is: Why another game when we can all stick together?

I see what you're saying, screw_ball, and I don't completely disagree with you (and the last thing I'd ever want to do is squash someone's dreams and ambitions). If you find that this is fundamentally different than the game you want to play, then by all means work to create what you (and presumably other FTers) feel will work better. My biggest concern (and since it doesn't affect me, why it concerns me I really don't know) is that there seems to be quite the glut of games being proposed right now, including more than one along the lines of FT. I've got no idea which (be it one, none, or all) of them will be successful, but I wish you well in your endeavor, and also encourage you to stay around here as well.

That said, I think Sureshot does make a valid point that (at least pragmatically speaking) a smaller number of more sizeable communities are more likely to experience success. Still, good luck and I hope you stick around.

NOTE: I realize that I'm somewhat contradicting myself by completely agreeing with Sureshot, and not disagreeing with screw_ball. If anyone has a problem with it...well, I don't know why anyone would have a problem with it. Never mind.

Well, I don't think I have the patience to stay in this game. I like4 the idea of a more in-depth simulation, but I like to actually release a movie from time to time. I think everyone does.

You've been here for one day and you're already complaining it's hard to get a film picked up. That's funny i don't recall any of you sending anything to my inbox. I would say more films get picked up in FM than got greenlit in FT. In HTG there are less players even with you guys joining, and still the same amount of slots on the calendar. My studio has approached people about several of the new pitches, and i know for a fact that two of the other studios have done the same. Why haven't your pitches been picked up? Simple reason. Why should we waste our time developing someones release when they would rather be somewhere else?

I'm still new to the game but one thing really helped me break in that screw_ball here hasn't shown.... I was polite to everyone and didn't complain when things didn't go my way. Also post whoring and saying that this game is full of stuck up players doesn't help.
If you ask me we're being very tolerant and answering all questions we've been asked. If they don't like your movie idea then think of another one. From the amount of your useless posts, they probably know that you lack the attention span to write a well developed movie. I'm not saying this towards all Fters, almost all of you have fit in very well and made some great ideas in the pitch board, but there always has to be a couple bad seeds.

Sorry for the rant.
