I have no problems with this idea if it is used once in a while in a film festival set-up. With this I can finally have Tupac Shakur starring in my movies. Good idea. :)

As a side game or festival the ideas great, but if we were to integrate this into the main theater system it would be problematic. The talent system would need an overhaul and with so many legends available in the game, they'd all require Spielbergesque TS's, meaning most wouldn't be affordable anyway.

I also would find it cheesy seeing dead stars appearing with present A-listers. I'd find it more fun personally to pick a release year for my film and go back and produce it as it would have been done in that time in history.

here's an idea.

A staff is chosen to run a festival. The staff choses a date... for example: 1965
Those who wanna take part to the festival have to send a script, and a list of talents who worked during this year. If two players want Steve McQueen, the first one who sent his entry will be able to cast him.
Maybe we should allow the participants to hire those classic actors for free, and give them small cash bonuses. After all, such a festival would be created just for fun, and no profit.

voilą ;)

I am against the idea of "Classic Hollywood". We try to make everything realistic with HTG and having dead stars acting in or directing your film would make no sense at all in my opinion.

I agree with the festival thing.

IMO, if there was a profit, it should come from winning a festival award or something, as opposed to Box Office returns.

Where I stand:

No to longterm classic hollywood

yes to film festival

yes to malko's idea

yes to profit from festival winning.

keep this outside the box office.

We were beginning to plan a Deceber Fest, should it be a classic fest?

December is too early I think. Springfest would be better.

If this is gonna happen I'm gonna have to vote against it ;)

But seriously, like Chavito said

Oh and further more...

If a festival or whatever is put into play, can we make a rule that you can't use classic stars along side the wayans brothers?

I would hope nobody is stupid enough to do this, but I would still like to see the rule in play lol

Hey say what you will about them but Marlon has some acting skill. If he didn't choose dumbass roles and got away from his brothers I think he'd be able to showcase it better. Besides if we can't use the Wayans brothers than who's gonna play Tupac's version of Bugaloo in my movie? :P
