I felt a Funeral, in my Brain,
And Mourners to and fro
Kept treading -- treading -- till it seemed
That Sense was breaking through --
I felt cleansed. Felt dark planet turn underneath my feet and knew what cats know that makes them scream like babies in the night.

And when they all were seated,
A Service, like a Drum --
Kept beating -- beating -- till I thought
My Mind was going numb --
Looked at the sky through smoke, heavy with human fat and GOD was not there. The cold, the suffocating dark goes on forever -- and we are alone.

And then I heard them lift a Box
And creak across my Soul
With those same Boots of Lead, again,
Then Space -- began to toll,
Live our lives, lacking anything better to do, and devise a reason later.

As all the Heavens were a Bell,
And Being, but an Ear,
And I, and Silence, some strange Race
Wrecked, solitary, here --
Born from oblivion, bear children, hellbound as ourselves; go into oblivion.

And then a Plank in Reason, broke,
And I dropped down, and down --
And hit a World, at every plunge,
And Finished knowing -- then --
There is nothing else.

The first of the production diaries is now online, and so are a couple of new on set blog entries from co-producer Brandon Taylor. Enjoy!

On a sidenote: If anyone is interested in interviewing me about this vain and ill-fated enterprise, let me know. I like talking about myself. Or don't. MC48 would like that.

VISUALIZING DR. MANHATTAN: PART TWO OF THE WATCHMEN PRODUCTION DIARIES IS UP!

http://watchmen.moonfruit.com/

Check out the behind the scenes going ons regarding the creation of Dr. Manhattan: the character. Don't forget to take a look at some concept art for Dr. Manhattan as well as the CG Puppet used to insert him into the film, as well as a whacked out looking Liev Schreiber straight out of the makeup chair in a failed makeup test for the Doctor. Yikes.
