(FADE IN on a shot of MIKE ROULETTE (Matthew MacConaughey) standing in the doorway of his mother, MARY PARKER'S (Karen Allen's), house.)

MIKE: It was good to see you, Mamma.

MARY: I’m glad you think so. I wish I could say the same.

(MIKE turns and walks through the door, letting it slowly close behind him. His mother walks to the window, and looks out…

…we see she is living in a clean, beautiful neighborhood. The sun is shining over perfect green lawns and glittering, newly washed cars. The door’s deadbolt snaps into place behind him. MIKE looks up suddenly. The sound of screeching tires can be heard down the road. He looks up to see two black cars and a black SUV headed in his direction.

MIKE turns and looks back at the house, just in time to see the curtains settle. He looks back at the approaching vehicles, his coat whipping around him in a gust of wind...)

Mother
Tell your children not to walk my way
Tell your children not to hear my words
What they mean
What they say
Mother

(CUT TO--a little black boy chasing a ball down a street in a Las Vegas suburb. He spies an ice cream truck, and walks over to it. A hand shoots out and pulls him inside.)

Mother
Can you keep them in the dark for life
Can you hide them from the waiting world
Oh mother

(CUT TO-- Mike's apartment. JULIET ROSS (Alexis Bledel) is standing in a bedroom, dressed in her night clothes, listening through a door. JULIET throws open the door, to reveal CRAIG WILLIAMS (Billy Bob Thorton) laying on the floor, drenched in sweat and shaking as MIKE tries to attend to him.)

JULIET: I’ll help him.

(MIKE and CRAIG look up in shock.)

CRAIG: Who the fuck is that?

JULIET: Mike’s… friend. Your friend too, if you’ll let me be.

(CRAIG looks over at MIKE.)

MIKE: This is Juliet. She’s a nice girl. She’ll take care of you.

Father
Gonna take your daughter out tonight
Gonna show her my world
Oh father

(SERIES OF SHOTS:

ARCHIVE FOOTAGE/CLUB SIBERIA: A young Lemmy Christ looking on as 'GOD' (Gary Busey) coughs up blood under the watchful eye of IVY BRUNSWICK (Dakota Fanning).

Young Lemmy screaming as he's hoisted up on a makeshift cross...

A grown LEMMY CHRIST (Jake Busey), eyes crazed and face streaked with blood, firing a machine gun at something off-camera.

LEMMY holding a syringe and towering over somebody.

A bloodied LEMMY holding a gleaming blade in front of himself, beckoning an attacker...)

Not about to see your light
But if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's like
Till you're bleeding
Not about to see your light
And if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's

(CUT TO-- a rocky hillside several miles outside of Vegas, on an embankment. A white Rolls Royce pulls to a stop atop it. The doors open, and the well-dressed LIZARD KING (Stephen Baldwin) and his Asian mistress step out. MIKE follows them as LEMMY and police officer FRANK SCAGNETTI (Tom Sizemore) also exit behind him.)

LK: I want you to look out across that wavering hardpan, Michael. Tell me what you see.

(MIKE looks out across the desert to see the city of Vegas glistening under a blue spring sky.)

MIKE: Vegas.

LK: She’s huge, isn’t she? A great big shiny… bitch. Vegas is a bitch. Always has been, always will be.

(LK slides a hand onto MIKE’S shoulder.)

LK: But she’s my bitch.

Mother
Tell your children NOT to hold my hand
Tell your children not to understand
Oh mother

(CUT TO--FRANK walks up on a fellow officer, who has a bloodied, beaten MIKE ROULETTE at gunpoint.)

POLICEMAN: Frank! Frank! You’re not going to believe this!

(FRANK begins to walk faster.)

POLICEMAN: Frank, I got that Roulette guy! I’ve got him right here!

(FRANK reaches into his back pocket. The POLICEMAN turns to look at him.)

POLICEMAN: Frank?

(FRANK throws the POLICEMAN against the side of the wrecked van, lifts his other, black-gloved hand… which houses a shining switchblade. He nonchalantly cuts the man’s throat.)

Father
Do you wanna bang heads with me
Do you wanna feel everything
Oh father

The LIZARD KING'S bride walking toward him as he sleeps, a ceremonial Japanese blade in her hands.

I can show you what it's like
Till you're bleeding

MR. PEANUT (Ted Raimi) laying down soem cards with a smile as the dealer scowls.

Not about to see your light
And if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's...
Yeah!

LEMMY facing down a police helicopter, machine gun in hand.

MIKE, handcuffed to a pipe in some dingy bathroom. He looks up at a figure that's towering over him...

CLOSE UP of the laughing, demonic, bloody face of ROY WATSON (Brendan Gleeson).)

Not about to see your light
But if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's like...

Very surreal trailer. Who's directing this one? Feels like a David Lynch movie.

It was a hard call... I went with Tony Scott, but Lynch was one of my potential choices.
