a police officer came into the school to talk to us today, he said something really interesting. He said, if you are riding your bicycle at night, you need to have fitted proper lights, otherwise you would get a fine. walking when the red man is flashing is also illegal. if someone is in a car accident and you drive by without helping, you could face up to 10 years in jail. each drug kit that they use to test whether drivers have been driving under the influence of drugs cost $30. in 2004 375 people died on victorian roads. for each person that dies, it cost the state of victoria 1.7million dollars. road accidents are caused by people 90%, car problems make up 1% while 9 % is due to the environment a tricycle is classed as a toy and can be ridden on the footpath while the bicycle is referred to as a vehicle. those who are 14 and under may ride on the footpath. if you are over 14, you are eligable for a fine ahahahhaha just thought i might share what i learnt :ph43r: |
