I have been thinking about my buying habits in regard to the books I like to read/buy and I have realized that I mainly buy/read YA paranormal romances but the weird thing is that I even though I write in the YA category I write Urban Fantasy and after a long discussion with my sister she said that my novel was a coming of age. Which I agree with completely but what I find odd is that I would never actually read the same kind of books I write. Is anyone like this where they can't read the same kind of books that they write? I am probably going to get screwed if I ever add romantic elements to my novels main characters.
