So, I'm planning on getting on either a Laptop, or a desktop, to run on Windows7 sometime in the spring, or summer, mostly for my Highschool-derp, and Psychology papers, and of Course, UTAU. My current Os is Windows XP. Have any of you Windows7 Users had to give up on a few things, just for the upgrade? I also really want to know how well it works with UTAU. Does it have any problems with it, if so, are they easily fixed? I'm also considering getting a Desktop to run on XP, and a Laptop on 7, if I have enough money, or my mom donates her old computer to me. (She rebuilds computers, computer science-major) If I can't work around two computers, and 7 is too much trouble I might just go to XP instead. I do really want to work with 7, I just don't want to give up everything I do on ÜTAU, etc that I already do on XP, for the upgrade. (I heard that Paint gets better, Mover Maker worse.) I'm sorry, but I won't touch Vista with a Ten-foot poll. ;_; So, fire-away. -will be taking notes- |

I've run UTAU on Win7 Professional on a virtual machine without encountering problems. Inexplicably, I have more problems on my XP virtual machine than on Win7 O.o BUT, it's probably some problem with my XP install. I have translation working partially, some plugins like utalis not working properly and TIPS resampler failing on XP, all of these are working fine on Win7 (which is a bother, since XP is obviously faster than 7 on a VM orz) |

I had problems at first, but now only the UST Converter and OTO aliaser don't work. The Untriphonizer is fine, the Triphonizer never worked right in the first place. Just run it as an admin and be very careful at first and you'll be fine. |

I'm a little less scared of upgrading, now. -sigh of relief- I never need the Triphonizer, just the untriphonizer. I'm totally going to have to have total control of the computer, because it sounds like not being the admin, just makes things not work. ;_; Thanks guys~♥ |

I'm in the same boat! Just started using Windows 7, and I haven't had a single issue with it and UTAU whatsoever. |
|
Working primarily on Seiya and Reim from now on. Pram and Hisoka will still be available for DL, but no longer updated. | |

I run UTAU on 7, works like a charm. You need to change the locale though, because AppLocale doesn not work on 7. |

It's works fine with me! Even the UTAU Essential Kit's fine too [though I only tried the UST converter] And about the 7's Movie Maker, I pretty like it since it's easy [that's just 'cuz I have never used XP's MM >.>;;] I recommend you to check this blog : http://movies.blainesville.com/ if you scroll down to the third post [SUNDAY, MAY 23, 2010] There should be a download for either an upgrade for the whole Windows and another one to upgrade your 7's MM into Vista's Oh, like what smeen said, don't forget to change the locale [ check this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2SOWWpuYyI&feature=related if you need more help. Although it's for Vista, it pretty works for 7 too ] Hope this helps :3 |
