| Welcome to the UTAforum! UTAU is a Japanese voice-synthesis program used to create singing vocals for music. When I first got Utau many years ago I translated it into English using a patch I found, it works perfectly except since my computer is not in Japanese it can not understand any of the characters. Any character immediately turns into gibberish or the ust won't load, for " meltdown " it told me " Bad file " and for " Kokoro " it told me " Wrong path " . I had no idea what I was doing because my computer turns Japanese into symbols. The only ust I have that works is for " Wide knowledge of the late, Madness " , but that's only because it's in all in romaji. |

download a voicebank with the kana encoding such as teto kasane and see if the japanese usts with the gibberish works. http://utau.wikia.com/wiki/Teto_Kasane I myself am pretty new to this, but if you want them read you will have to add kana or hiragana aliases to the voicebank. Thankfully there is the Essential UTAU toolkit http://utau.wikia.com/wiki/The_Essential_UTAU_Toolkit, which can automatically create the aliases, or if that doesn't work, If this is your voicebank you could possibly ask someone online to fix it here, or use another voicebank. I may be wrong about something here, but I'm trying to help. |

If you have your Windows CD you can add eastern languages and set all Unicode(Non-English) programs to Japanese. This should fix the problem for FUTURE USTs and UTAUs. Any you've downloaded before hand will remain in gibberish. |
