Well, in audacity everything is... For example: H-e-e-ello my-y-y na---a-ame i-i-is S-s-sa-a-ar-a. x.x I'm downloading UltraMixer right now to test it out, but is there any particular program you guys use? |

Wrong subforum to post this. Read the description of the Questions/Suggestions/Feedback subforum before posting in it. |

Sorry >< When I was looking around I checked all of the subforums, then when I went to post I think I clicked the wrong subforum! I'm so sorry! I'm new and still not expert on how to navigate, that could also be part of the problem x3 But now its in the questions and tech support, so I think that's good... Thankies to whoever moved it ^^ |

Audacity should work. I'm still not understanding what it's doing to you. It's a nice basic program, I used it for a while until I was ready to upgrade to REAPER. REAPER is what a lot of people use, it has some very nice built-in reverb, compression, and EQ tools. And then it supports a wide range of plugins, so things like SPITFISH for de-essing, Extra Boy for making off-vocals, and Charsiesis for some cool vocal effects, and you've got basically anything you could possibly need for mixing. It just takes a while to learn everything. :/ There's also things like FL Studio and Mixcraft that are quite popular as well. Edited by Blaze, Feb 4 2011, 09:52 PM.

Like Blaze said. Anyway, do you mean it kind of... uh, "stutters" when you play the tracks? This generally happens when the CPU can't keep up with the workload of processing audio fast while playing. :| Which version of Audacity are you using? Stable (1.2.x) or Beta (1.3.x)? Whichever you're using, you can try the other one to see if it works better. |

Okay thank you ^^ And I've been using the beta version, and I'll try the other one (I had it but uninstalled it) Its fine for recording sounds, but anything longer than 10 seconds gets the cruel... Yes, almost like stuttering, but some sounds just won't play and it saves that way too :/ But I'll try some of your guys' suggestions :3 |

You can also try to change the numbers in the "latency" section in the preferences. In theory, the higher the buffer size is, the less CPU is used. But, conversely, latency gets bigger (I think it's like it reacts late to what you do, which might or might not be a problem) You might also have some other process eating your CPU time, so check your system monitor, just in case. Ah thank you ^^ But I have no idea what half the stuff is (the processes) .___. So I'd have to ask my dad later, but thank you for the latency information ^^ |

Um, yeah, try the latency thing first. The other thing is pretty tricky, so leave it alone if you don't know what you're doing. Just for information's sake, I think the monitor can be accessed by right-clicking the system bar or whatever it's called (that thing usually at the bottom of the screen. I never use Windows except for UTAU so I don't remember exactly where the stuff is or how it is exactly called lol ^^;). If you see the indicator for CPU usage is often very high, even while doing nothing, you have probably a process being nasty. The processes are just programs that are running on your PC. But, they can be in background, that is, you don't necessarily see them running (they might have no window or anything and just do stuff without being visible.) Most times, they're good and necessary, but sometimes computers come with a load of crapware preinstalled that isn't really useful and overloads the CPU for nothing. Sometimes even the system itself does a lot of crap that isn't useful because it's badly configured. But then, again, though it can happen, the latency being set incorrectly in Audacity is MUCH more likely. |
