Excactly what the title says. I got this great VB but it has too much noice in it, is there any way to fix that without killing the samples? This is how the samples sound now: http://twaud.io/q9s1 They get killed in UTAU like this... So is there any way to polish them up a little? |

Since I can't listen, I'm going to link another and ask if the problem sounds similar, cause Kenji's ACT 2 I recently recorded and denoised may have the same problem... Does it sound like this? "If it is, this is how to fix it." |

i record everything in oremo, then i export all the sounds into adobe audition 3, and one by one i capture profile and make a noise reduction, then i normalize the wave group, and finally export them again, and they sound just awesome |

Audacity's Removing the DC offset may help. Try it with a pair of samples to see if it's the result you want (you have to redo the frq after fixing them and as that is a slow process that is why you test it in a pair of samples first). The safest way is: http://www.sonovert.com/audio-conversion/73-removing-dc-offset-in-audacity-video-tutorial.html This method doesn't change the waveform at all. If that method is not enough you can do a second step in DC offset removal that it's a bit more aggressive: http://www.sonovert.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=99&Itemid=23 This method is still softer than noise removal but the waveform is starting to get changed. Now, if they're not enough then you have to use noise removal tools like Sekai recommends ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1yw1sf2rNk ). If you're going to do it, I think you could avoid the 2nd way to remove DC offset and do the noise removal directly after the 1st type of DC offset removal. But maybe doing the three methods could give you a better result in your case. You could just test and see what happens. You should have a copy of the voicebank unchanged elsewhere and you'll be on the safe side if you ever mess something up with the samples. Now, noise removal is very aggressive with the sample. In some cases you may to only use noise removal with the vowel part because some consonants (like s or p) can be damaged. Using more advanced programs can help more like facuu said... but those aren't usually freeware and they may be very expensive. If it's just for this I don't recommend purchasing it (maybe you could try to do it with a demo). If any of these methods didn't work... well, re-recording the samples may be needed like LupinAKAFlashTH suggested a bit earlier. Edited by irei1as, Mar 22 2011, 02:23 AM.
