| Welcome to the UTAforum! UTAU is a Japanese voice-synthesis program used to create singing vocals for music. I want make an Mp3 of my Utau singing Scarfu's " The beast " ust , problem is I don't know how to sync all the parts together. " The beast " ust has four parts to it and I don't know how to put them together. Scarfu had the decency to label the order sure but I don't know how I'd bring them together. Do I do it in audacity or Utau? |

Well, you should start by downloading the video she released it in; the karaoke should match up, and you should sync the lyrics and parts together. You use Audacity when you find bits that match; however, I use REAPER for multi-part USTs that aren't synced on-time/are simply different singers/are harmonies, because it's easier than simply using Audacity. |

Do it in audacity! (Although I'd really recommend getting Reaper to mix... you can do a lot more with it) Also, sometimes with split-up USTs you have to really work on the timing, too, since different parts occur at different times and the wav files don't always line up end-to-end. It helps to have a fair sense of rhythm, but if you listen to most karaokes, there's clues to help you line them up. For instance, in Matryoshka, there's 4 beats that line up with the "1,2,3,4" at the start of the song. And if you're not sure, it always helps to post your mix on here or on twitter/twaudio to get feedback. c: But seriously, get Reaper! It's easier to work with when it comes to lining up wavs to karaoke, it has more effects, and you're less likely to clip/distort volume if you do the right process (which reminds me I need to link to Soaa's Reaper mixing tutorial on here sometime...) The only drawback is if you want to sell any music you make you'd have to purchase a license, but for just hobby/cover stuff it's perfectly free to use xD Edited by mystsaphyr, Mar 3 2011, 09:43 AM.
