Ambiguous originality aside, one thing that's really bugging me is that her breasts look to be growing out of her collarbone. Not to mention they're way too perky for that size. I took the liberty of doing an, albeit not very good thanks to my crap PC mouse, redline for you. I also fixed up that whole "hey my fingers are the same length" thing going on down there.

Spoiler: click to toggle
Sadly I cant fix those issues, I (stupidly) merged the PSD layers together. It doesnt really matter that much anyway as she's a robot. Robot = no bones! xD Like I mentioned, I'm only getting the hang of drawing humans so boobs to me are just two sticking out circles.
That's not really a valid excuse. One, yes she's a robot, but one made to resemble a human, so anatomy still applies here; And two, blatant mistakes like that look very unprofessional.
Give me a fucking break, I wish I never even posted her now. All I've had is shit off people, stress and time wasted that I could've used in my art college course work. I can draw humans well, just not in KEI/manga form. But fine, ok. I'll have to do a lot of photoshop work tonight to change her due to all the layers being merged. Anything to stop people bitching. If it was a crap MS Paint artwork you wouldn't probably moan, out of pity. >_>

Kelly, again, you don't need to get so upset.
Critiquing(and being able to handle your work being nitpicked) is all part of being an artist, no matter what style you're doing it in.
You should take the things people are telling you and try to use it to improve, not snap at them for throwing their two cents in when you asked for it. Even if you don't agree with what they have to say...there are better ways to respond.

If you're not used to drawing people in KEI/Manga style then practice so you can get better. If you know how to draw humans...take those anatomy lessons and use them. KEI/Manga style anatomy isn't completely different from regular anatomy believe it or not.

Im sick of people telling me though, I just got a comment on DA by someone who cant really draw that well saying the same thing. Im trying, its just so hard! TT_TTemote

Im gonna stay up tonight and get her right. If I can't I'll just make her a Vocaloid fan character or just a Mac-only voicebank like the Macnes. Theirs no point making a UTAU everyones gonna hate.

Sorry if I snapped, Tortoiseshel. Calling someone 'unprofessional' is horrible though when that person is trying their best. Please understand that im fairly new to digital artwork and human 'kei style' artwork. Ive drew this bitch so many times, trying to imitate KEI's style Im really getting fed up. :/

Ffff...knew I forgot something. -watches you-

It's hard for me to 'hate' an UTAU whose voice I haven't heard yet O_o
And on that note I don't think hate is a very appropriate word for how other people feel about her. I think they just want to help you make your UTAU better so that she can be amazing but uhh ya know...you don't have to cater to them in the first place.

But I feel like I digress...I understand you like KEI style but maybe it's just not for you? I myself enjoy KEI artwork but could never draw that way even if my poor life depended on it :holy--:
Maybe you should try a different style if drawing KEI style is wearing you down.

Your attitude is terrible.

You're quite whiny for someone who's looking to do better. All you keep doing is getting upset as if what you've done should already be viewed as perfect simply because you put forth effort. Perfection is only gained after repetitive rounds of trial and error.
I don't care if it's hard, I don't care if you spent a lot of time on it, there's always room for improvement. Get that through your head.
Your excuses are heart-shattering, and yes, they do look unprofessional.

No one's stated that they hate your UTAU. We haven't even heard her sing yet. Your issue is that you are so consumed with being well-liked that you're letting it eat you up. Stop it. As I see it now, all you want is popularity. For you, for your UTAU, for your artwork, it doesn't matter which. It's what radiating from you. The desire to produce something that everyone will love. And there is nothing wrong with wanting to have your work loved by others.
The issue here is, is that you're a poor sport about it. You expect only positive reactions, and take it as a personal attack if you get the opposite. You're closed minded and intolerant to people's advice.

I will say this again, and I truly mean it.
Don't strive to be well-liked.
Strive to do well.

Work for yourself, enjoy what you're making while you're making it, and do your absolute best. Doing your best means not just doing it once, but taking advice and applying it to the next time. You must continue to push forward and advance. Make things quality and don't worry about whether or not you'll be loved.

I like drawing in KEI style, its the only still I know how to draw humans in. Its just...her. So complicated and hard.

What if I make her slightly gothy? I want to add small, detached floating black wings to balance the design out, plus two long wires coming out her back and some black gloves. What about transparent material connecting the sleeves and the jacket? Also what about I show some of the 'hidden' lights slightly glowing?

That's well untrue, I want to make a great UTAU with a good quality voice bank. It's not about me getting famous or praised, I just want what's best for her and i want people to enjoy using her as a voice bank. As most people go off artwork alone (because sadly that's how loads of people work in UTAU/Vocaloid fandom) if I can't get the artwork as good of standard as people want it theres no point making a VB as it'll be ignored. That's how I see it.

The only reason I'm getting whiny is because it feels as everyone's ganging up on me, I hate it, I really do. As someone who was constantly bullied at school to the extent of having to take up private tuition instead, its only natual that I take any bad thing said as some form of attack, especially how you seem to word comments. No offence but you do put things in a very negative way.

I want to do my best, I want to make a nice looking character. I want to take your advice in but I don't really understand what you want me to do to her design. I'm getting mixed reactions with some people saying it looks fine and some saying it looks wrong. It looks 100% structure-correct to me.

Last but not least, this: I was enjoying making my UTAU until I posted it on here. Sounds cheeky to say, I know but it's true. It's just made everything stressful as hell for me. :/
But I will push forward with her, I won't give up on her. No chance. She's a good character, I'm confident she is!

I'm not being purposefully negative, I'm trying to show you what you're missing. You come off as immature and emotionally unstable.

I can empathize with your bullying situation, but it isn't a valid excuse to act like a child.
I've been bullied, abused, and abandoned many times in my life by peers and family members. It's not going to stop me from working hard and thinking about my actions before executing them.

If you can't take a critique, don't ask for one. They are rarely ever what you want to hear, so you should have prepared for that. Not to mention the fact that people have said multiple times on this thread that you don't have to take their advice. And that this should be something for you to enjoy and do your own way. But since you asked, they gave their honest opinions.

Your perspective on this community seems to have warped greatly. There's a whole thread here about Art vs UTAU quality. You'll see that the majority of people still put the voice over the design.

I think, personally, that you need to step back from this whole situation and take a breather. Do a bit of maturing, and then dive back in. I think it may help your stress especially.

Slow down there lol Before we add more/redesign let's get comfortable with drawing her first, kay?
I think, since I feel like it'll help in the long run...you should sit back, relax and...grab some paper. Computer paper or sketchbook it doesn't matter. Now...start drawing different parts of Kelly in KEI style and practice it. You say you're having a tough time with Kelly in KEI style right?

Break her into pieces as cruel as that sounds. I mean REALLY. Take paper and pencil...on the paper practice drawing her eyes. Draw her hair. Her hands even though they're partially covered. Use your own hands as reference. Practice drawing the body without clothes first. Get a really good feel for how she is shaped.

Then when you're comfortable with drawing her do something like this:
http://princesstoadette.deviantart.com/gallery/32363550#/d48l3ou

I did this for Iris because someone told me, "I don't understand her outfit...". They just couldn't fully grasp her flower and her top(they thought the green hot top was attached to her yellow shirt) but also because it helps you as the creator understand your UTAUs design. You may think you do now...but trust me. Taking the design apart like this will help(and it's nice for people who wanna draw her XD )

But to answer your design questions anyway:
Transparent material connecting the sleeves to her jacket...I like that alot actually. Even though it's transparent though just give it some color so we know it's there lol
I think wings are a little too much however lol She seems pretty balanced to me already.
As for gloves...do you mean gloves + arm warmers? Cause I think that's too much too. I think you should do one or the other. If it's just gloves then go for it XD
And last but not least...I would LOVE to see these glowing lights :sing:

The emotionally unstable bits right, the immature bit isn't. I just honestly wasn't expecting such a backlash over what I class to be one of my best photoshop works. I guess I'm just a bit too proud and worrying about it. But you can't change that, that's just the type of person I am. A friendless, tearful student who spends most of the time either on the computer or drawing.

Now you've mentioned that thread. How many people who've said 'I judge a UTAUs VB over art' do you think generally mean that? Don't you think they're just going to say that to make themselves seem like a good UTAU user?

I'm short-tempered anyway so even takin a breather won't solve it. The only thing that will is finishing her artwork 100% so I'm happy with it, otherwise it bugs me CONSTANTLY through day and night till I'm on that computer, editing the image in photoshop. After making her first artwork late last year I've been constantly at it, trying to get her more perfect. It's became an obsession of mine. That said, with months of effort put in you can see why I've kinda lost it. ^_^"

Anyway I'll work on the artwork again tomorrow, add these little bits onto the design and try and sort the 'super push-up bra' situation out. Just, word thinks a little lighter, ok? <:)
